Quick View: Shopping at Payless ShoeSource is a hassle so I do my shopping on their website. They have a bigger variety and some items you can't find in stores. I can have my order shipped free to the store or, if I spent over $50.00, free to my home. I am not a huge fan of Payless but their BOGO sales turn up some good deals.
The Site and My Experience
Payless ShoeSource Online (www.payless.com) is easy to navigate. It is broken down into Women's, Men's, Girls, Boys, and Accessories and then you can hone down the search by choosing the type of shoe (casual, dress, athletic, etc) or shop by size. They carry a wide variety of styles from names like American Eagle, Airwalk, Spalding, and several others. Their styles range from super trendy to classic and they carry a good variety of athletic shoes for the whole family. I rarely shop on the site unless they are having a BOGO (Buy one, get one half price) sale - which they are now as I type this. I like buying one pair of shoes and getting the second for half price. You can buy as many items as you want and will get the seconds half off. Adding items to your cart and paying is painless and easy. You can have your order delivered to a Payless ShoeSource near you for pick up which is free no matter what the order amount or you can opt to have the order sent to your home which is free for orders over $50.00. If you choose in store delivery, prepare to wait awhile. For some reason they ship to my home much, much quicker than they ship to the store near me.
Quality is decent and they have a good returns policy. I never return anything by mail. It's too expensive to do so when I have two of the stores within a few miles of me. I walk in and exchange or return site bought items at the store. I have never had an issue with returning or exchanging anything when I did it in the store. The only one thing that gets me is the wait for my orders. When I opt for in store delivery, the wait could be up to a month or more! That's nuts. Coming to my home, it takes a week to 10 days, which is a lot better but still a bit slow. I have never had an issue with at home delivery. I can drop fifty bucks on shoes and accessories easily so it's always free to ship to me. Tax is charged though.
My Viewpoint
Payless ShoesSource Online is so much easier to buy from than the physical store. The stores are often crowded, small, and a big pain to deal with. There are just a few selections on racks in every size and I usually walk out either with nothing or with things I don't really like that much. When I take my time and shop online, I get just what I want and know, if something doesn't fit or I don't like it, I can take it back to the store hassle free. Quality is good for the low prices and variety is decent. I have had no major issues with the site and the process and will return to the site when I want a trendy, inexpensive pair of shoes or a handbag. The BOGO sales are always fun. I just left the site, still uncertain if I will indulge this time. I don't need shoes or handbags. But with that half off sale going on....
Anyway, I recommend Payless ShoeSource Online over the brick and mortar stores and definitely recommend at home delivery for faster service. I give the site 4 stars. It fills a need. The need for inexpensive trendy or classic shoes, boots, and handbags!
