I'm a big fan of Ebay, and that's how I ended up being a big friend of PayPal.  PayPal.com is the easiest way to pay for auction purchases on the web.  It addition to making auction payments an effortless task, PayPal makes collecting payments from customers equally as effortless.

I have been using eBay for a number of years now they were doing fine until they got into bed with eBay.

There Mastercard debit card is a easy way to access your funds, for buying murchandise online and receiving payments.

Customer service is VERY poor though, if you have a problem with your account, don't...

Back about 5 years ago I got an email from Mypoints about a joining an on-line payment service. Mypoints was offering 250 points to sign-up through them, so I gave it a look and liked what I saw.

    What is it

Paypal is an on-line payment service where you can pay for on-line purchases and if you sell on the Internet you can collect payment from them via Paypal. In the last few years Ebay and Paypal have become one and that makes using Ebay so much easier.

When you first open your Paypal account and enter all your personal and bank info  Paypal will then make 2 very small...

Paypal, an online payment system, has always been great for me. I have been using it for about six years and have gotten payments for freelance writing jobs and surveys. Although I've never done it, people can also make payments with it. There may be a small charge for using the service, but the convenience makes it worthwhile. They notify you by email if you are paid, and you can use different email addresses. I've been paid by people from other countries which eliminates the hassle of being paid by check and converting currency.

Once you receive payment, you can direct deposit the money into...

I recently have been a big fan of any site that allows you to keep your personal banking info secure.  When you sign up with paypal you give them the info you want.  Then you can go to other websites and pay with paypal.  You don't need to give secure info to multiple sites.

I used PAYPAL for some of my EBay purchases. After several purchases I notices unathorized activity that was traced back to PayPal.
I cancelled my account with E-Bay & PayPal and all illigal activity stopped.
Let the buyer beware....

Ebay buyer and seller

Paypal can be fast easy and very convenient to use.  In fact if you're a buyer or seller on ebay you almost have to use them. But if you do use them just be prepared to be burned because it will happen sooner or later.  Their customer service if you have a problem is awful!  All the answers to your emails are automated and their customer service phone number is very hard to find on their website.  Chargebacks can take months to be solved and their buyer seller protection is a joke!  Believe me if they can find a loophole out of taking any responsibility they will.  I've only had problems...

I got shafted by an Ebay buyer and then by PAYPAL- the buyer returned a perfectly functional camera he bought from me in an Ebay auction that clearly stated "all sales final."  2 months later the buyer returns it, claims I sold him a faulty camera, and Paypal doesn't ask to see any proof - just buys the guy's story and racks up the total under my account and freezes my account.

I closed my Ebay account (118 transactions with 100% good feedback) and will be closing my Paypal account as soon as the balance is zero.  Then I will encourage everyone I know to avoid Paypal at all costs. If...

I got my Paypal account the same time as my Ebay account, since 2000. Never had a problem with it-I usually use the echeck feature to pay for items, but I realize it is probably safer to link a credit card up with the account and just pay by credit card, because there is more buyer protection. I have heard horror stories of buyers not getting what they paid for, or the item being switched, etc and not getting their money back, or Paypal only refunding a small amount on a high ticket item. Thank goodness this has not happened to me! I have had good experiences with Paypal, and they were very supportive... review »

As a buyer, Paypal is easy, affordable and safe.  Buyers love paypal.  As a seller, I have not had as positive of an experience.  I got caught up in a dispute, so a hold was put on funds that I had already deducted.  Then Ebay, which was an authorized charge, took out their user fees.  Unfortunately the Paypal system is not set up to deduct only the authorized charge, and apparently none of their employees are smart enough to override it.  Without my authorization, Paypal took over $200 from my bank account and could not quickly resolve the matter.

Paypal is an excellent service owned by Ebay. So I believe they have Ebay's best interest at heart and not necessarily yours. They will try and encourage you to use a draft from you bank account. they toot how safe and protected you are when doing so.

I say use a credit card thru Paypal. I trust my credit cards ability to refund me for non=delivered items quickly. With paypal I have seen it take months to arbitrate before finally getting a refund.

They do offer an easy way to transfer money, but have HORRIBLE seller protection. There is no protection to the seller as they trust the buyer over the seller no matter what.

On- Line Shopper

i recently purchased a product through a seller using pay pal.  i ordered two items from the seller and paid through pay pal.  when i received my order i only received one item.  i tried contacting the seller to no avail and then tried filing a dispute with pay pal.  they said they couldn't help.  i was amazed.  how could they say they couldn't help me.  i thought the whole purpose of pay pal was to help buyers and sellers.

my advice.

don't buy anything using the pay pal service.  they won't help you if something goes wrong. they wont put out any effort.  but.  they will send you a customer...

All PAYPAL does is agree to give your money away as a buyer.
If you are THAT carefree  -hey send me some will ya?

Seriously..

If you buy something..and you do not get it..PAYPAL is NOT on the hook.
If you happen to file within 45 days AND --here is the catch--AND the seller has enough funds..AND you win your claim...then MAYBE you will get a refund..

I bought a dvd. They never sent. I won the paypal case but since the seller had no money I was out 100 percent...excpet I paid by credit card..and did a chargeback.

I rented a condo..
The seller did not do what was needed.
Paypal would not accept the claim...
