Paypal, an online payment system, has always been great for me. I have been using it for about six years and have gotten payments for freelance writing jobs and surveys. Although I've never done it, people can also make payments with it. There may be a small charge for using the service, but the convenience makes it worthwhile. They notify you by email if you are paid, and you can use different email addresses. I've been paid by people from other countries which eliminates the hassle of being paid by check and converting currency.

Once you receive payment, you can direct deposit the money into your account which is free. I have read other people's complaints about Paypal, but I have never had any problems. I always withdraw money every time I get it, and I always log out. There are email scams where people claim to be Paypal to get you to divulge personal information. It's called phishing, and after I received my first one, I contacted Paypal, and they quickly told me what it was. The emails look very real, but Paypal will not ask for personal information over email. I'm no financial or technological wizard, but using Paypal is easy and fun.

I have had an account for years that I use for paying people and it certainly is convenient. It is easy to avoid the scams, never click on an email link. PayPal always advises you to type their name in the browser window.

Amen to that, Niki! I couldn't function online without my PayPal!
