Paula's Choice Ultra Light Weightless Finish SPF 30 Sunscreen Spray —

Paula's Choice Ultra Light Weightless Finish SPF 30 Sunscreen Spray truly out-performed the commercial names in sun protection against Florida's potently dangerous summer rays on my mostly-Irish/Scottish-heritage skin, hands down.

Over a test period of six weeks, several other products outright failed and I got sunburned WHILE USING HIGH-SPF SUNSCREENS!

Using a range of products while boating, during the times when the sun's UV rays are at their strongest (12 noon to 4 p.m., and on the water, to boot), this Paula's Choice product was the only one that provided uniform long-term coverage and kept my skin from burning.

Paula's Choice Ultra Light Weightless Finish SPF 30 Sunscreen Spray doesn't feel like a sunscreen in the typical sense, in that it isn't a lotion or gel, but a spray, so its clear and cool-feeling silky texture is relatively "weightless." One sprays it into the hand to apply to the facial area and it dries into a matte finish (although that doesn't last long when the temperatures are in the 90s!).

As a pump-type spray that's also as light as those in aerosol cans (but without the drying and smelly alcohol), this product does leave a mild "sunscreen-y" smell--not the pleasant coconut kind but a more medicinal aroma (despite its "fragrance-free" designation; although it clearly doesn't have "fragrance," just the faint smell of ingredients).

The only serious drawback was its tendency to sting the eyes. It didn't do so at first, nor when I was swimming, but only later in the day after reapplying for the 2nd or 3rd time, strangely enough. However, ALL the 30+SPF products stung my eyes at varying intervals...

One other inconvenience is the product's tiny size; at only 4.1 ounces, if one uses copious amounts, it will only last a couple weeks. Yet, this product was the only one that kept my skin from burning. Period. None of the drugstore brands did that.

All hail another successful, quality product from the Paula's Choice skin care line! :)

I have problems with my eyes and suntan lotions too. The pharmacist said it's allergies. I'm trying a new one by Burt's Bees this week. Hopefully it will prevent burns and not bother eyes either.
