Paula Begoun has made a career of studying, testing, creating, and reporting on beauty products.  From upscale products to drugstore cosmetics, Paula has devoted her talents to wading through the hype and helping consumers choose the best skin and hair care products that actually work.  I first became aware of her product line after reading her popular guide, Don't Go To The Cosmetics Counter Without Me.  Although Paula provides plenty of enthusiastic recommendations for many products that I can buy at the drugstore, I was interested in trying out her line of skin care products.

I purchased the Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Moisture Gel online at her website, PaulasChoice.com.  Although I have slightly oily skin, I still feel the need for a bit of moisturizer (particularly during the colder months).  After reading the description of the moisturizer, I was impressed that this sounded like it would provide hydration without the heavy, pore-clogging formulation of other brands.  So, I ordered it with a fair amount of anticipation.

Paula's Choice did not disappoint.  I couldn't believe how soft and lightweight the gel feels.  It absorbs very quickly and leaves just a lovely, satiny feel to my skin.  I feel like I'm getting the absolute perfect amount of moisturization without greasiness.  The Skin Balancing Moisture Gel has absolutely no added fragrances, color dyes, or known irritants, so it's wonderful for sensitive skin.  Paula has added generous levels of antioxidants along with water-binding agents to really make my face feel hydrated, smooth, and natural.  I could see a difference within a few days of using Skin Balancing Moisture Gel (along with the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Treatment).  Seriously, my skin has never looked better, fresher, or clearer in my adult life.  That is high praise for two moderately priced facial products.

As you can guess, Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Moisturizing Gel gets a gigantic thumbs up from me.  I'm lucky enough to have found the right combination of products that work to make my skin look its best.

I've never tried Paula's Choice makeup, but the skin care line really works well for me. She does an awesome job of offering reasonable prices with quality products. :)

Sounds like Paula made a wise choice and so did you.

I have very dry and sensitive skin and my doctor told me to go after creams because they are thicker, richer and have more emollients than a water-based lotion. She also said to go after anything that has alpha-hydroxy in it because that is a moisture replenisher. Hugs from Gigi ;+)
