Quick View: This perfume surprised me! I expected to hate it and sneeze my head off but, instead, I fell in love with it and so did everyone around me. And it's priced low for some crazy reason (not that I am complaining). This perfume doesn't smell anything like the description - thankfully. It's clean, fresh, and feminine.

About Paul Sebastian Casual for Women

I generally never buy perfume based on description alone. I have to actually smell it and try it before I can decide if I like it. However, while I was shopping online for my two sons' favorite (and expensive!) colognes, I was just $10.00 away from free shipping and I wanted that free shipping. I looked around and there wasn't much for a small price then I happened on Paul Sebastian Casual for Women - a full four ounce bottle for just $12.95. It was described as floral - which I hate - but I figured my older sister or mother in law may like it. I would rather get something than pay shipping!

The order came and I opened the box. I pulled out the Casual Perfume first. Cute glass bottle and nice box. Judging by the description, which read like this on the website, I didn't even want to open it.

Launched by the design house of Paul Sebastian in 1995, CASUAL by Paul Sebastian is classified as a flowery fragrance. This feminine scent possesses a blend of: fruits with jasmine and roses. It is recommended for daytime wear.

Roses? Ewwww!

Well I opened it and sprayed a tiny bit on my wrist. It didn't smell floral. It didn't smell overbearing and sickening like I imagined. I then sprayed my other wrist and a few other pulse points. The fragrance starts out a bit strong but settles right down to an amazingly fresh, clean scent that smells just like the name - casual. It smells a little bit like jasmine but more, I smell a fresh, clean scent with hint of femininity so that it smells sexy, not like clean linen (which I also like but this is more alluring).

My husband hates almost all of my fragrances but he commented immediately that he liked this one. I had an appointment and I was complimented by a young woman in the waiting room and asked the name of my perfume. My doctor even said I smelled good and this guy just isn't the type to talk about such things. (I do have a "more familiar" doctor who seems to enjoy the scents I wear when I see him but this doctor is not that guy.)

I sprayed the perfume on at about 1 p.m. and I can still smell it at 10 p.m. It wraps me up in a fresh, sexy but not sophisticated or complicated, feminine scent that has caught the attention of almost everyone I came in contact with today. It is by no means what I thought it would be. I pictured "old lady floral" and sickening roses. Nooooo. This is young and energetic and perfect for people who like casual fragrances that last for many hours without the need to reapply. I honestly love this stuff and it was so inexpensive! I have a mind to buy another bottle just to have around as well as the body lotion to layer. However, this is strong enough that you don't need to layer it to get many hours of fragrance from it.

My Viewpoint

I really love the scent of Paul Sebastian Casual for Women. Obviously everyone's tastes vary but I am the type who shies away from strong florals, oriental scents, and anything that isn't fresh, youthful, and clean. This is all three as well as super feminine without the overbearing scent that many perfumes feel they must have to be feminine. 5 stars from me. Some say this smells similar to JLO's Glow Perfume. I never smelled that so I am not sure but it seems several people do think it has similar qualities.
