Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo —

After years of trying a variety of dandruff shampoos to treat what I thought was dandruff, I finally found a hairdresser while traveling in Texas that explained the difference to me between dandruff and a dry itching scalp that was most likely stress related.  All of this time I was trying to treat a condition that I didn't have.  She suggested that I start exploring shampoos and conditioners that contained tea tree oil as a primary ingredient to help soothe the scalp irritation (she also suggested a yoga class to help control the stress) and so I began exploring options at the local health food stores but I really wasn't happy with the products and since they weren't available in most stores it required a special trip to the health food store just to pick up shampoo, really not very practical.  I finally found the Paul Mitchell Special Tea Tree Shampoo at the local mall when browsing one day and was very pleased with the results.  It doesn't smell medicinal like those dandruff shampoos although it does have it's own distinct smell.  I will say that in this economy that it is a bit of a luxury to spend over $10 on a bottle of shampoo but somethings are just worth the extra cost.

SuperCuts does a pretty inexpensive "tea tree experience" that is really enjoyable (it's like a mini spa for us cheap girls!). This is the shampoo they use, with some other tea tree product for a facial. Good review!
