I received the Paul Mitchell flat iron straightener as a gift. It worked fabulous! I have used a Chi in the past, and I would say the two are very comparable. It heats up to 400 degrees. It heats up fast and straightens my thick wavy hair pretty quick. It is small for easy storing and packing for travel....
