It works very well and it does not make a lot of noise!

    cool for touch, warms a large space yet is small, under $30!, thermostat

I live in a 3 bedroom apartment with my older brother and my mom.  My mom is anemic and so she gets cold very easily.  I can have this on in my brother's room -- central to the apartment, and it will warm up the floor in my mom's room.  It makes a little clanky noise when it first comes on but is hardly a reason to not buy it!  I love it and I can also have it in my college residence hall without violating any policies...very safe.
