Patti's 1880's Settlement - Grand Rivers, KY Review

I don't know if there is enough space to say everything I need to say about Patti's.  I have tried many other places and I've never experienced anything like Patti's.

Patti's 1880's Settlement is located in Grand Rivers, Kentucky.  It is about 25 miles southeast of Paducah, KY, on I-24.  The drive is about 2 1/2 hours from my home in southern Illinois, but we make the trip at least twice a year, or sometimes more if we have something special to celebrate.  

Nestled in a nook across from the Kentucky Lake Harbor, Patti's is surrounded by beautiful landscape, gardens, and water features.  While you are waiting for your table, you can shop the specialty gift shops that line the garden like a tiny village.  If you stop by earlier in the day, you can enjoy the rock-climbing wall, remote control boats, games in the arcade, or play a round of minature golf.  Children can play on the outdoor play or pets some animals.

You start off your meal with homemade bread that is cooked in a flower pot along with the special whipped strawberry butter.  Yum!  If you are trying an appitizer, my favorite is the fried cheese logs, although my hubsand is partial to the fried dill pickles.  The menu is full of all sorts of tasty treats, but my favorite still remains the house special-- a 2 inch grilled porkchop smothered in Patti's special sauce.  Talk about mouth-watering!  Order your baked potato loaded with butter, sour cream, melted cheese, chives, and bacon.  It is delicious!

The ambiance of the restaurant is wonderful.  Each room has wall-to-wall decorations and lights.  Low-lighting and candles on each table add to the mood.  The waitresses and waiters are dressed in old-fashioned apparel and are very friendly and knowledgeble about the menu and the foods at Patti's.  Don't think so?  Just ask what they offer for dessert.  Patti's employees are trained to name and desribe everything on the dessert menu.  It's pretty amazing to hear!  If you're not too full, try a slice of the boat-sinker!!

Although reservations are not required, Patti's is ALWAYS full, so its best to plan ahead!
