Easy to Make, Easy to Eat

4

I picked up the white shells and cheddar on a whim after too many nights eating mac and cheese. I'm a big fan of quick, easy meals and this one hit all the right buttons. Its super easy to boil the noodles and throw in the sauce and milk at the very end. I usually end up having to make two boxes for my family as we all like it to much and the box sizes are kind of small. The noodles taste great with no gritty powder you sometimes get with seasoned noodles. The only extras you need are water, milk, and butter and sometimes I forgo the butter and the difference in taste is very slight. My kids love the white cheddar taste and at times I use it as their entire meal when we're on the go. The noodles preserve well for leftovers (although that event hardly happens in our house!) and go well as a side to chicken and pork chops. Overall I rate the product as an 8. The only reason for the lower rating is the box size. With a family of four, there simply isn't enough to go around athough the price is fairly decent and allows the purchase of a second box rather easily.

Pasta Roni Shells & White Cheddar Is A Quick Meal In A Box

5

I found this box of Pasta Roni in my local grocery store. This kind is called Shells and White Cheddar so it was right up my alley as I am a macaroni and cheese lover and I love cheddar cheese. This box is a 6.2 ounce box and it cooks in about 12 minuets for your meal. There are shell shaped pasta in the box along with a packet of a powdered White cheddar cheese sauce to add towards the end of the cooking process. With their slogan, **" The San Francisco Treat," **I had to see how it tasted here in New York State also so I bought a box. I knew it would be good, am just teasing everyone who reads this a bit. **Ingredients Needed: ** 2 Tablespoons of margarine or butter, 2 cups of water and 2/3 of a cup of milk. **How To Cook This Product: **In a medium size saucepan you would bring the margarine or butter and the water to a boil. When it comes to a boil, you would add the contents of the pasta in and stir slowly making sure this will come back to a boil again. Once it reaches a boil, you would reduce the heat to medium. Continue boiling and stirring frequently as this cooks for about the next 12 minuet . You will see most of the water is evaporated which is what you want.Stir in the milk and the cheddar packet and return to a boil. Continue to cook for about 1-2 minuets or until the pasta is tender. The sauce in the pan will look thin. By letting it set for about 3 more minuets it will thicken for you. When this is all made, it makes approximately 3 cups prepared. This can also be microwaved for your convience. **Variations: **You can add drained tuna to the cooked shells and cheddar to make it a tuna melt. You can also add a bag of broccoli, cauliflower mix to this for the added nutrition. Or how about adding some small chopped ham pieces to this or bacon bits? There are lots of additions you can use for your taste. **Nutrition: **Serving size is 2 ounces. There are about 3 servings in this box when you figure it as the dry ingredients. Calories prepared without meat is 290. The calories of fat for the serving is 110. Trans Fats is zero, Saturated fats is 2 grams, Cholesterol is 5 mg, Sodium is 630 mg, Carbohydrates is 36grams, Dietary Fiber is 2 grams, and Sugar is 3 grams. Protein for this is 7 grams per serving. **This product contains Wheat, Milk and Soy.** **Made in the USA **by the Golden Grain Co. in Chicago ,Illinois.
