I was looking for something different to serve as a side dish when  I saw Pasta Roni Garlic & Olive Oil Vermicelli.  It immediately reminded me of the Olive Olio Pasta my mom used to make.  I bought it right away.

Pasta Roni Garlic & Olive Oil Vermicelli

Pasta Roni Garlic & Olive Oil Vermicelli is a noodle side dish.  It contains vermicelli noodles which is a thin spaghetti type noodle, thinner than you average spaghetti noodle but thicker than an angel hair pasta. The sauce is a garlic and olive oil flavored sauce.  It comes in a 4.6 oz box.

To Prepare

Preparation is very easy. You will need a medium sized sauce pan.  All you do is simply place 1 ¾ cups of water with 2 tablespoons of butter or margarine in the sauce pan.  Bring the mixture to a boil.  Then add the noodles, and the contents of the seasoning packet.  The two are packages separately.  Stir the noodles in when adding.  Gently stir everything, and let it boil for 8 to 10 minutes, stir it frequently.  After it is finished let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes to let the sauce thicken.

Nutritional Information

Like most prepared foods there is a lot of sodium in this.  But you are only going to eat a small serving of this because it is a side dish, just make sure to balance out the rest of your meal.

The cost of the 4.6 oz box is about $1.29 which is not too bad.

After It's Cooked

Pasta Roni Garlic & Olive Oil Vermicelli does not come out like most prepared noodle mixes.  Most are creamy but this is not creamy.  Instead you can see the noodles which look wet and shiny.  You can also see the spices on the noodles.

Final Thoughts

Pasta Roni Garlic & Olive Oil Vermicelli is a nice change of pace from the normal creamy noodle.  It still has plenty of flavor, and tastes really good.  It tastes a bit lighter than most noodles to so if you are in the mood for something a bit lighter this is a nice alternative.  It is not better or worse than creamy, I would say they are both equally good.  You can taste just a bit of garlic coming through, and a bit of other spice, the spice is just the right amount.  I had no complaints from the family, and 2 of my kids wanted more, but there wasn't any.

If you are looking to try out a new kind of side dish I do recommend Pasta Roni Garlic & Olive Oil Vermicelli.
