This movie fails to deliver on most every count. As a romance, it fails since there is no chemistry between Anne Hathaway and Patrick Wilson. As a supernatural thriller it fails because there's nothing spooky or even thrilling about the plot - the movie story leads you down an erroneously path, when it's fairly obvious that's not what the movie is about. The big "payoff" at the end is really not much of a surprise. The movie pace is excruciatingly slow, as the supposed mystery is playing out. Anne Hathaway is either a terrible actress, or is just so miscast in the therapist role it appears that way. Patrick Wilson comes off as some sort of unpredictable nut case, not any kind of believable character in the story context. Most of the other supporting actors - David Morse, Dianne Wiest, and Cle DuVall in particular - did have good performances and carried the movie for me. The plane crash special effects were laughable, and most of the cinematography pretty ordinary. And the soundtrack music - it seemed to be from another movie since it sure didn't fit this movie.
