My grandson started off breast feeding. When my daughter had to change him over to a bottle, she tried many different ones. He was unhappy with the flow of the milk from the bottle.  She finally decided to try one of the sippy cup types to see if he could get a better flow from the nipple.  I thought it was way to early with him being five months old to start him on a sippy cup.  He immediately took to it and has been on it ever since. He is now ten months old and drinks all his liquids from the Parent's Choice sippy cup. The nipple is soft and subtle silicon.  It only lets him suck the amount of milk as fast as he wants to. He does  not drink it fast at all, but is satisfied with the amount he gets from it.  I guess it's never too early to start them on a sippy cup.  He has not had a regular nippled bottle since my daughter changed him over to the Parent's Choice sippy cup. My grandson is happy, so that's all that matters.
