Since giving birth to my son in March 2008 I've come up with every way possible to save money on baby expenses. One way being that I buy Parent's Choice (or other store brand) formula. I'm a new mom and decided I wanted to know a little more about the company that provides these formulas. Upon some thorough research I have learned that PBM Nutritionals is the leading manufacturer of all store brand infant formulas. Among them being: Wal-Mart, Target, Sam's Club, KMart, and Walgreen's. (I'm sure they provide to other stores as well but these are the five main stores in my area). Also, the company is owned by Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. The only can of formula that I've found to not identify as PBM (although it is), is Target. When buying store brand formula look for the PBM Nutritionals name in very small print on the back of the can. All of these formulas are exactly the same. That being said, check your local store ads and on occasion these products will be on sale. Some weeks I buy from Wal-Mart, some weeks I buy from Target. Also, you can call the 800 number listed on the can or Google PBM Nutritionals to find the website. With that phone number, you can call every 30 days and request a coupon for Parent's Choice formula. I've also received coupons for the Target brand as well. They are usually $3.00 off. I'm not afraid to pay for quality but when these formulas are exactly the same I don't see a point. My son is almost three months old and we haven't had a single problem with the formula and his pediatrician agreed that it was a good choice. Save yourself some money to use for other things, the quality of these infant formulas is just as good as more expensive brands. (However, if your child requires a special variety of formula these options would not apply)
