My baby girl received the Parents Bee Bop Band for her first birthday. The toy is rated for 18 months plus but does not seem to advanced for her. When we opened up the drum and took out the drumsticks she knew exactly what to do with them!
This is a very cute set. It has a set of jingle bells in the shape of an ant wearing long pants (the pants form the letter "A,") a bumble bee maraca with castanet wings in the shape of "B" and a caterpillar tambourine in the shape of "C." The drumsticks are two smiling centipedes.
Your child must be supervised while playing with this toy because the drumsticks are made of a very hard plastic (they can become weapons!) and while not a swallowing hazard, they are still just the right size for putting in the mouth. A fall with one of these in hand or mouth could result in an injury. The metal pieces on the tambourine should also not be put in the mouth. The child could pinch his/her tongue between the metal pieces.
While there are some potential hazards, my daughter loves this toy. She has played with it to some degree every day for the last 2 months.
