Made by C.E.C. in Japan to the highest standards possible for its price range the Parasound C/BD - 2000 Ultra is almost as good as C.E.C.'s entry level transport which retailed for $7500. The C/BD-2000Ultra was a Stereophile Class A recommended product for its entire retail lifespan. If you thought CD's couldn't sound as smooth and detailed as vinyl you owe it to yourself to listen to the C/BD-2000 paired with any high-end DAC or even better with Parasound's matching D/AC - 2000 Ultra. The manufacturing quality is superior as usual for a Parasound product and it looks and feels both expensive and substantial. I highly recommend all of the Parasound 2000 series to anyone looking to achieve audio Nirvana on a budget. Definitely worth every penny of its $1550 MSRP and you can find good condition used ones for around $700. This unit is rack mountable and heavy, it is also a top loading unit so you need to have some space for it.
