A few weeks ago I saw the preview for this new film, Paranormal Activity. It was advertised as the scariest movie ever made and the clip showed little more than the audience's terrified reaction and a series of reviews from after the show. I am a huge fan of horror flicks and, before I realized I was way to big of a chicken, one day had wanted to be a parapsychologist. This was SO my type of movie. With all of the "horror" movies that have come out as of late (Saw, Hostel), it's nice to see a genuine scary movie that doesn't rely on gore to get your attention.  

Okay so after seeing the  many advertisement's my nieces finally got me to go see Paranormal activity. I was very skeptic  about it. It started out kind of slow  with a young couple moving in a new house and they decide to set up a video camera up to catch activity that goes on at night while they are sleeping. Once the paranormal things started to happen is when it got really good and eerie. The best part was when they poured baby powder on the bedroom floor before they went to bed and what happened next. I was one of the original people who wanted this movie shown in my area. I signed up on the paranormal activity website because of all the hype. All the commercials I watched made the movie sound so good. Even my local radio station DJ's touted the movie so much, I couldn't wait to see it. In the end, the movie was just about the hype.

This movie was good at best. Same kind of plot as the Blairwitch. Tries to make you think that this is a real documentary type film. Now if this was real.. it would be one of the scariest things I've every saw but I couldn't get passed the fact that it's not real. I was able to see this movie with an alternate ending which from what I heard the movie theater ending wasn't as good as this ending. Regardless, I have to admit that the thought of "Paranormal Activity" being based on true types of events did get me a bit spooked thinking about it.  I did find myself looking over my shoulder at home...

Paranormal activity was the most scariest horror movie that ive ever seen. when i first saw it i didnt want to sleep alone.In fact, i slept with the lights on for a week.Even though it scared me i found myself watching it again.It is suspenseful and it is in a catagory of its on when it come to rating it as a horror movie

I am the biggest movie critic I know, I personally am into scary, horror, and paranormal/mythilogical type movies. I wasn't going to see in theater movie released in 2009 Paranormal Activity, assuming it was going to be cheesy graphics and a pointless plot. But everyone online was bloating about how great it was, and how they weren't going to be able to sleep after seeing it because how "scary" and "creepy" it was. So I decided I would go see it. My boyfriend and I love scary movies. We don't go to the theater very often, but we had heard some amazing reviews for "Paranormal Activity", so we decided to check it out. The reviews were WAY off! This movie was horrible; not even worth renting the DVD. I would compare the filming to "The Blair Witch Project" in that it was supposed to be a documentary of the demonic activity that the female lead character has experienced throughout her life. Of the approximately 90 minutes, only about 5 were mildly exciting. Do not waste your time or money on this movie. Trust me, you'll regret it.
