We visited Paradise Beach during our Cozumel trip last month.  We were staying at El Cantil Oceanfront Condos which are located right in the town of San Miguel.  There were 16 people in our party, so we rented four Jeep Wranglers and drove the 15 minutes south to Paradise Beach.

This destination is basically a sandy beach with loads of lounge chairs set up under umbrellas and out in the sunshine.  When we arrived, one of the waiters greeted us and told us that it was free to lounge on the chairs, but we were expected to order a few drinks and/or food.  Not a problem.  We arrived around 11am and found literally hundreds of vacant chairs from which to choose.  Seems we had beaten the cruise ship rush by a hair because they all started filling up quickly after that and were almost completely full by noon.

After we settled into our spot, we ordered a few buckets Sol beer which were $15 for 5.  Several members of the group bought "fun pass" wristbands for $10 which allowed them to use floating mats, snorkel gear, the water trampoline, and also to climb the giant inflatable iceberg.  In addition to the water activities, Cozumel's Paradise Beach has a shop (clothing, jewelry, etc.), massage tents, hair braiding, and a full indoor restaurant and bar with wireless internet access and a couple of laptops available to use.

We had a great day at Paradise Beach.  We enjoyed the sun, drank our fair share of Mexican beer, swam, shopped, and enjoyed a tasty lunch.  I do have to note that half of our group went inside for lunch while the rest stayed in their lounge chairs and ordered on the beach.  Those of us inside the restaurant waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive while the rest of them had their food delivered in just 15 minutes.  I got the impression that the waiters worked both outside and inside at the same time, but I could be wrong on that one.

Aside from the slow service inside the restaurant, I don't really have anything negative to say about Cozumel's Paradise Beach.  We had a lovely and relaxing day just hanging out and letting the waiters bring us buckets of cold cerveza.  The cost of food was a bit expensive but the drinks were reasonable for a tourist destination.  We will definitely be returning to Cozumel and Paradise Beach next year!

We went to Cozumel a couple of years back. Your destination sounds better than ours was! Jo
