Paperless Post —

Here's my dilemma - I love hosting parties. I mean it - pool parties, sporting parties, cooking making events. We probably host 1-2 events each month during the summer months, and one every few months during the cooler months. I also love making my own cards. However, life gets in the way and before I know it, the event is a few days away and I haven't even sent out the cards.

Sound familiar?

If it does, relax! Paperless Post is too the rescue!

What is It?

It's like a stationary shop and post office all in one. You create your invitation or save-the-date card from one of many designs, customize it with graphics and text, select the recipients and send it away. Each time you send the card, it costs you one stamp, which costs you around 12 cents. It sounds so easy, but is it? YES!

Initial Impression

When you first sign up, it's hard not to be impressed. You get 25 free stamps to get you started, and you can buy them as you get along. The process is as pain-free as it gets. It's still in its beta form, so your feedback is crucial to making it even better.

I know, I know. I cringe when I hear the word "beta" too. However, I have yet to be let down with this web site! It's perfect for anything - have a wedding? Don't spend extra money on save a date cards! Just send them with Paperless Post and save yourself the trouble.

What I Love

1) Tracking - you can see who opened your card, when and if they replied. It doesn't cost you anything extra. It makes it really easy to see who may not get the memo about the party and will need the call.

2) Options - there are so many varieties of cards. I'm sure as they grow, their selection will grow as well. Even so, I'm very impressed.

3) Convenience - you don't have to go out and get stamps. You don't have to go to the post office. You don't have to pay someone to print an invitation. They even have helpful wording for you to use if you want it.

4) Catchy - it looks REALLY good. I can't tell you how many of my friends and family have complimented me on it. It looks like a real card that you open. The animations are seamless!

What I Dislike

1) Stamps - on one hand, I don't like having to pay for something I could get from Hallmark.com or the like. However, it's better than the average ecard. It's catchy. It's impressive. To me it's worth the money, considering I'm saving quite a pretty penny for each card!

2) Artwork - at this time you can only add a decorative clip art to select invites AND only chose one piece. I would really like to see them be able to add multiple clip arts - like 4 snowflakes - at one and adjust each one's size.

Overall

You're going to love this service. While it's not perfect and not 100% free, it's cheap and it works. You're going to be impressed by the results in addition to just how fun it is to make these things.
