Books are expensive.  Plain and simple.  This website is designed for us cheapskates that have a hard time parting with our money!  Paperbackswap.cpm is FREE to join.  How it works is that you post some of your old books that you don't want anymore, and others do the same.  You get to pick books you would like to receive from other people and they are responsible for paying the shipping to you.  Of course, you have to do the same for others when they request your books.  But, come on!  Most shipping costs are around two or three dollars, and that is a SMALL price to pay for receiving books from other people in return.  I've shipped out & received several books thru this site and have NEVER had a problem.
