Paperbackswap has saved me hundred of dollars, introduced me to new authors and is very convenient and easy to use. It's free to join, and they'll even give you 2 free credits for listing your first 10 books. The only required cost is for postage, which depending on the weight of the book can run around $2 and up per book. It works on the credit system. When someone requests your book, you package it and mail it (the sender pays for postage). When the book is received, you receive a credit that you can use to request any book you want. If the book you want isn't currently available in their huge inventory, you can add it to your wishlist and you'll be notified when the book is available for you to request. There are minimum condition guidelines for the books to help ensure that no one receives a nasty book, and there are procedures set up to handle those instances where the condition guidelines are not adhered to. They do have some additional optional features available for a nominal fee. For example, printable postage allows you to purchase postage through the site and provides an instant credit rather than waiting until the book is received. And Box-o-books allows 'Boxers' (members who subscribe to this service) to trade lots of books with other Boxers, resulting in savings on postage. I've gotten so many books through this site that I'm usually overwhelmed by deciding which one to read next. There are also sister sites available for CD and DVD trading. Excellent site!
