It's okay, but doesn't do much.

I have very frizzy hair, and most products dont tame it. This didnt either. It smelled good, but it didnt help my frizz at all.

Helps frizz, but weighs down hair.

Pantene Pro-V Restorative's Frizz Control is a good product, but if you have fine or thin hair, be very careful how much of the product you use. I can only use a tiny bit, otherwise my hair ends up looking flat and feeling very heavy. I like how this product really helps with frizz control. I usually put a tiny amount on my hair right before I flat iron and I do not have to worry about frizz for the rest of the day. As long as I am very careful about how much I use, this product works out great for me. I think the cost for this product is acceptable and since I do not use that much at one time, one bottle lasts me a very long time. The scent of this product is also nice. It is not a heavy smell or overpowering. So, the only issue I have found with this product is that if too much is used on fine hair, ti will definitely weigh the hair down. I would recommend it if you need something to help with frizz.

Works okay but not the best frizz taming product I've found

2

I have long wavy hair and often suffer from the frizzies, especially during Michigan's infamous humidity-laden days. I've tried a lot of frizz-taming products and have had mild success with most of them. Some work great, others don't. I normally love anything Pantene and think that the company produces high quality salon-like products without the high salon prices. So it was only a matter of time when I would get my hands on the Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Ultra Smoothing Balm. Whew, say that three times fast! This product claims that it "tames unruly frizz instantly for brilliantly smooth hair all day." The directions to do this is to "pump a small amount of balm into hands and work through-out damp hair. Use more or less depending on length and texture of hair. Style hair as usual and either let air-dry or use a diffuser to minimize frizz." While this product works okay for me, I will not purchase it again. There are other frizz-reducing hair products available that work much better for me. Effectiveness Unlike other Pantene products that I love, I'm just not that into this one. It works okay but I've used better. I usually apply it to my damp hair but I've also tried applying it directly onto my dry, frizzy hair. When I do that, it seems to really weigh it down, making it somewhat greasy and still not taming all of my frizzies. When I apply it to damp hair, I still get the frizzies, although not as bad as if I don't use any frizz-taming product at all. Scent The scent is pleasant and not overpowering.

The best frizz eliminator I have found on the market.

Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Conditioner is simply the best conditioner I have found on the market. I have very coarse, wiry, red hair that frizzes at the slightest humidity. I have tried almost every product out there and though some work for a couple of hours, this kept my hair frizz free for 2 days. After shampooing, I comb the conditioner through my hair. For deep conditioning (which I need) you leave it on hair for three minutes. As you rinse it out, you will immediately feel how much softer and silkier your hair feels.  I could not believe I was feeling my own hair. Even my husband who doesn't notice much of anything, commented on how good my hair looked. When he touched it he said it was the softest he had ever felt my hair. It comes in a very easy to open tube. Stands upright in the shower without falling over and fits very neatly into shower caddies or into a drawer. Highly recommend!!!!!!

Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control tames the frizz!

I have long, very thick, moderately curly hair. Most of the time my hair is fairly smooth and shiny, however when it's humid my hair turns into a frizz monster. I've tried my whole life to tame the frizz, with little success. But Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control really works! It comes in a pump bottle which is easy and not very messy, and you can get just a little out, which is all that I find I need even for long hair. I smooth it on and brush it through after a shower, and my hair stays nearly frizz-free for the rest of the day. Immediately after putting it on, my hair feels smoother and de-tangled. It's pretty amazing. It works great even when I blow-dry and straighten my hair. It also smells good, which isn't always true for frizz-control products, and it doesn't require an extra 5-minutes in the shower like some wash-out deep conditioners do. My only complaints are that it feels greasy if you try to use it on dry hair, so it only works on the day you shampoo. Also I don't love the shampoo and rinse-out conditioner from this line, so it's a litle more challenging to coordinate scents. Otherwise, though, I'm a big fan.

Bad Experience

1

I've always had trouble with frizz, so I was hoping this product would help with that. I am sure that this product works for some people, but unfortunately, it temporarily ruined my hair. I've used Pantene before, and I have never been fond of the fact that it makes my hair feel like it's been coated in plastic; Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control was no different. In fact, it seemed to leave a heavier coating than the previous Pantene shampoos/conditioners that I had tried. Not only did I not notice any difference in frizz, I found it very unpleasant to feel my hair, and it was difficult to brush through, as well. It just felt very dry and I could not run my fingers through it... it felt like trying to run my fingers through strips of rubber. I woke up one morning, to find a huge knot in my hair, which I spent 30 minutes on trying to brush it out. As the week went on, the knots just kept on forming, no matter how I tried to manage it. I quit using the Pantene shampoo and conditioner, but there was no way to fix what had already been damaged, so I ended up chopping off about a foot of my hair. And I wasn't the only one who didn't like it. My mom asked me if she could use what was left of it. I warned her, but she didn't mind taking a risk. After her shower, she immediately complained that it made her hair feel like straw, and she was having trouble brushing through/styling her hair, too. The only thing I did like about it, was the scent. It *almost* smelled like grapefruit, to me. I guess this shampoo is responsible for getting me to finally try a more natural, expensive cleanser that I had been wanting to try for some time... at least something good came out of this experience (I love my current cleanser).

works well on my hair

I have sought fair and wide for a hair care product that can tame my frizzies. After many trials and errors across the years I have finally settled on this product. It by no means will make your curly hair straight, but it will help to tame those fly aways that you can't always control. I do not quite subscribe to the theory that one has to use all of the same products from one line in order for them to work effectively, but I do use this product along with another pantene prov gel product. After having tried all sorts of things from mousses and hairsprays to gels and creams, the one good thing about this product is that it does not make your hair too stiff. No one likes to tame their hair to the point where they don't want anyone to touch it.   Overall the product is not too expensive which is nice considering I can easily go through one bottle in just two weeks. I would definitely recommend giving it a try if you are looking for something to tame the fly aways.

Pantene's Pro V Restoratives calms the frizzies

Pantene Pro-V Ultra Smoothing Balm works great in the humid south for controlling my frizz mopped hair.  I don't use this product on a daily basis, just for the humid, hot summers to control and "tame unruly frizz", which is exactly as the product claims.  I think this smoothing balm is more for people with dry hair as it does add a bit of moisturizers, but I am guessing  most people that have more of an oily hair would not need to use a frizz control balm.  It is important to use a small amount of this product; I do not use it near my scalp as this tends to weigh my hair down and look a bit like I did not wash my hair.  What I do: after drying my hair, I lean my head over towards the floor and pat my hands , which contain a very small amount of the smoothing balm, on the ends of my hair, scrunching up a bit to give my hair fullness.  This gives my hair just enough to smooth the ends where most of the frizz is. This product will last me a long time, only a small bit is needed at a time for frizz control!
