Great For Messaging

By

from Visalia, CA

Comments about Pantech - Slate Cell Phone:

The Pantech Slate is a great phone for the crazy texting teenager. The full QWERTY keyboard is very easily used and is great for messaging for any sort. Some games are available however the pricing can be quite high. Email can also be check and the internet is acceable. However, a data package must be purchased or ou can just pay as you go, which can get very, very expensive. Of course, it can call and it has exceptional call quality. What draws most people to purchasing this phone however is its full QWERTY keyboard. It forms to the fingers and it is just like a normal keyboard so it doesnt even take time to learn how to use it for if you know how to use a normal computer keboard, you are set! This phone is highly recomemnded for its vibrate is quiet but easily felt and it does have a lock feature so when it is in your pocket, you wont dial China (unless you want to). Great phone, good for texting. God buy!

The Pantech C530 - an OK starter phone

By

from Escondido, CA

Comments about Pantech - Slate Cell Phone:

My son received this phone for Christmas. He has just turned 12 so we wanted a fairly bare bones, no nonsense phone that does not have alot of bells and whistles but is something that we can rely on. We got just that. The size is great and the phone is very lightweight. Clarity is fine with no problems thusfar, and texting seems to be unproblematic. Did have some problems with storing messages but maybe we just need to work things out. If you want a reliable starter phone at an affordable price, this could be for you.

easy to use not good clarity

By

from Crown Point, IN

Comments about Pantech - Slate Cell Phone:

I have had this phone now for just about 2 years.  It is a nice light easy to use phone.  The features are good, light weight, buttons are easy to use (not too close) on the text pad.  The general apps that come loaded on it are good.  A few games, rings tones, and organization features are a good perk.  But the clarity when talking is not very good at all.  I almost have to be in an extremely quiet space to be able to hear someone.  The volume on speaker phone is so low that when I drive I can not use it because I can not hear it unless it is up to my ear which fefeats the purpose of a speaker phone.  This phone would be ok for someone mainly who will text on it.  But if using for a lot of talk then not too good of a choice in my opinion.  Maybe for a child just starting out with a phone mainly for texting would be good.  I would not choose this phone again.  As soon as my contract is up I will be switching to a new phone.

Pretty good with a few glitches every once in a while

By

from Paris, KY

Comments about Pantech - Slate Cell Phone:

This phone is exactly what I wanted. It makes voice calls, is great for text messages, and has an alarm clock. It is not an iPhone, it is not a smartphone, it is not a digital camera. I'm guessing some of the negative reviews come from people who did not have an educated sales rep, or did not take the time to do the research themselves. This phone is a fraction of an inch taller and wider than my 8525, but it is so thin and light that I sometimes forget that it is in my pocket! The screen is nice and bright, very easy to read. Even without all the features of some of its competitors, it has plenty of useful features and add-ons. It's Internet capabilities are limited but functional, use Google SMS for faster results. Though it is a bit on the large size, it still is the perfect phone for someone who really only texts people.Overall, if you know all you need is a phone that is "just a phone", that makes voice calls and is good for texting, than this should suit you just fine.

Pantech Slate is great for a free phone...wouldn't pay a lot!

By

from Camp Hill, PA

Comments about Pantech - Slate Cell Phone:

overall an okay phone.  The vibrate mode doesn't vibrate hard though and even when it's in my pocket I can rarely feel it!  Besides that a great phone for being "free" with my 2 year contract.  Also doesn't give as many options for settings as other phones I have had.

Great for texting

By

from Johnson, VT

Comments about Pantech - Slate Cell Phone:

The Pantech Slate was my first choice for phones when my plan (through AT&T) was being renewed. I love the fact that it has a full QWERTY keyboard which is great for the amount of texting I do daily.  It also has a great amount of memory space in the inbox so there isn't constant emptying of the inbox, and can also hold a decent amount of pictures.  Memory starts to run low when you add lots of ringtones or full length songs.  Because I use my phone primarily for texting, that's not really an issue.  The camera is decent, but It could be better; that wasn't a concern for me.  The keyboard is great because it's easy to use.  The phone itself is pretty small, but the buttons are raised enough that it makes texting easy.  The menu/directional keys take some getting used to, but not a distraction.  The size of the phone is awesome because it is a bar phone and yet it is slim enough to slip into my back pocket.

The thinnest Qwerty keyboard phone out there.

By

from Plainfield, IL

Comments about Pantech - Slate Cell Phone:

I recently purchased the new Pantech Slate cell phone and I love it. It is the thinnest cell phone out there with a full Qwerty keyboard which makes text messaging a breeze, not to mention, fun! The Pantech Slate is just the right size to fit in your hand and has a nice, textured back side that prevents it from slipping. The phone is just available in basic black but has blue keypad keys which give it a nice color combo. The screen is big and has nice colors, the camera takes decent pictures. The real showpiece here is the Qwerty keypad. Text messaging has never been so easy! All of the functions you need are here, it is easy to switch from lower case to upper and from letters to  numbers, etc. The keypad can be easily locked with the touch of a button located on the lowest row all the way to the right. If you are just looking for a quick messaging phome, without all the bells and whisltes, not to mentioned expensive data packages, try the Pantech Slate. You won't be disappointed!
