I've had the Pantech Duo for almost 3 months now and I absolutely love it!  I text all the time and having a full keyboard makes it so much easier.  But what I liked about this phone as opposed to other phones with keyboards is this one also have a number pad.  I also hate touch screens because they never work properly for me!  I can't even dial a number on my boyfriends phone because it is a touch screen.  But with the Pantech Duo I can easily text someone and then switch and make a call.  I also love having internet and being able to facebook, check my email, read the news and watch full videos on my phone.  I seriously don't know how I lived before I had this phone.  I would recommend it to anyone!

I got my Pantech Duo C810 phone when I started with AT&T, two years and four months ago. I too just thought it was great.....at first. The QWERTY keyboard made for pretty good typing and the sliding keyboard and number pad seemed fine. Sound qualtiy was good and for phone and texting it was just fine. After about four months or so, the gremlins moved in. I experienced freezing, sometimes so bad that the only way to get the phone's attention was to take the battery out, force it to shut off and then start all over. My local AT&T store suggested that we change the SIM card, which they offered to do for nothing for me. We did, and it seemed better for a month or two, then the same old stuff. My keys, both on the QWERTY and number keyboards would just ignore input.

AT&T store suggested a new battery. Not quite sure why, but they thought that might help. So I bought a new battery, and by golly that seemed to help for three or four months, but then the same faults came back again.. None of this was frequent enough so it was an intolerant problem, but it sure was annoying! This experience makes me realize that reviews written after a week or two are not worth the time to read.

I am now two years and four months into this phone and it finally has stopped working altogether. My last trip to the AT&T store resulted in one of the employees telling me that they think it is the way the slides make contact with the basic phone module. It was great when it worked, but it was unreliable enough that my new phone is a different manufacturer!

Convenient but too much.

Comments about Pantech - Duo Cell Phone:

The QWERTY Keyboard is understandable. But the standard keyboard as an addition is overwhelming and redundant. The voice quality and battery life is exceptional. The design takes away from the pros of the device. The options are nice but there are just too many buttons making use somewhat complicated.

Pantech is an average phone

By

Comments about Pantech - Duo Cell Phone:

While the Pantech Duo fares better than other phones, it certainly is not the best. I do like the option of the pull out keyboard, as it makes texting easier. There aren't many "cool" features on this phone. I found it was just a step above the basic phones. There isn't much customization allowed on this phone. What I really didn't like with this phone was the lack of customization for the alarms. I use alarms for Monday, Wednesday, Fridays, and another alarm for Thursdays and Tuesdays. There is no option to select alarms for certain days. You can either have the alarm for every day, every week day, or weekends. Most of the phones I've had allowed you do select certain days for the alarm. As for appearance, this phone could look much better. The phone has frozen on me quite a few times, so that could be fixed. Overall, I just wasn't that happy with this phone. I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone.

Glitchy

Comments about Pantech - Duo Cell Phone:

I had this phone for I think maybe two years. I loved that it had two keyboards. That was the best part. I do not think it is worth buying this phone for the price or at all. I had so many problems with it. It was my first really glitchy phone. I would be texting and then it would randomly call my mom. I regrettably have had two Pantech phones. I do not like Pantech phones at all every one I had/have gives me problems and glitches. They both gave me trouble and are/was both glitchy. I try to take good care of my phones just I'm kind of a clutz and dropped it a lot. The worst part about it was that the battery would not last all day long. It was so annoying I had to charge it a lot more than the phone I had before it. This phone if you text a lot do not get it. It sometimes would not send messages even though it says that I'd have a full signal. The Pantech I have now is the same thing so as a matter of fact don't get any Pantech phones ever.

Pantech Duo- Not bad, but not great

By

from Nashville, TN

Comments about Pantech - Duo Cell Phone:

I got the Pantech Duo because I thought it was pretty awesome that it was a dual slider and I had never seen one of those before so I wanted to get it. It was not a terrible phone but it did have some down sides that really sucked in the long run.

for one, the dual slider part that I liked so much turned out to be the very characteristic that makes this phone so breakable. I knew a view people with the same phone and if the phone is ever dropped chances are it will slide out both ways at the same time, a thing it is definately not supposed to do, and chances are it will be broken because of that. also it has like 3 layers to the physical make up of the phone and those layers tend to separate causing the phone to eventually break in half and, thus, die.

the battery on the phone is fantastic though, usually I could go up to 3-4 days without having to charge it, using it only for texting and occasional call.

The Pantech Duo is a good phone

Comments about Pantech - Duo Cell Phone:

When I purchased this phone, I was intrigued by the fact that it slid 2 ways. There was no other phone, or since, that I have seen that slides in two ways. This is a great phone for people who like to text, particularly children and teenagers because of how fun it is to play with the phone by sliding it each way. The Windows feature on the phone is great because it is like having a little computer. The text messaging is wonderful because you get to see the entire conversation at once. The phone is simple to use but the text on the screen is a bit small. The options for the cell phone such as the wallpaper are limited. I did have a problem with this phone. At one point, less than owning the phone for 2 years, my phone broke. It was not my fault. There was a problem with the part of the phone where the connecter is plugged in. My phone would not receive the charge from the charger adnd therefore couldn't be charged and this could not be used. My cell phone compant sent me a different phone entirely; though I was upset that I couldn't use my Pantech anymore because it was fun and unique. They should make a touch screen version of this phone. It would be amazingly popular.

The pantech duo seems like a great phone, but it lags like crazy

By

from Lake Worth, FL

Comments about Pantech - Duo Cell Phone:

The Pantech Duo from AT&T seems like a great phone to have, with all it's applications and all the accessible items that comes alone with it. The phone slides both horizontally for access with a QWERTY keyboard and vertically to have access to numbers.

The applications that come with the phone are potentially fun and capable of being used in many different sort of ways. However this phone is completely slow. Every time you try to slide the phone in a different direction it takes a few seconds for it to comply with the way it slides.

While opening and closing different applications it also takes a while to get the page to load, which makes the ability of this technology a seemingly waste of money. There are plenty of other phones created with a faster capability of obliging to the needs of those who are impatient. But the Pantech Duo is not one of those phones that is going to allow you to get you to where you need to go without taking a long period of time.

I expected more.

Comments about Pantech - Duo Cell Phone:

For such a cool looking phone, it very annoying. when you make music into a ringtone, it doesnt cute of until the song is over. so if the song is sixty seconds long, it will play for sixty seconds!!! even if you have already answered the text!! the calender is not in calender form. it goes by day and its hard to visually see how your month looks like. when you switch from the full keyboard to the regular keyboard, it takes like 3 seconds. that might not sound like a big deal but it really does get annoying after having to wait for the phone to switch over all the time, several times a everyday. i have had two of these phones and they both just randomly died on me. it would randomly not accept calls and text messages so i would have to cut it off and cut it back on again. having a full keyboard and a regular keyboard was helpful. it made it easier when you were dialing. but if you used the fn button to type symbols and numbers more than 3 times, it stays that way and the only way to make it go back is to cancel the message and type it all over again. it was really bulky in ugly colors. overall i would not recommend this phone for anyone.

Comments about Pantech - Duo Cell Phone:

I love this phone! It has a great calendar so I can keep up w/ my daily activities. I also love the full keyboard so I can text like crazy in long meetings to my hubby. I also use the alarm clock on the phone to wake me up in the morning. The phone has two alarm clocks. You can also sync your business calendar to your phone.

Comments about Pantech - Duo Cell Phone:

Its a great looking phone I love the slide out keyboard and the two sets of numbers it has.  They r definatly still working out the kinks. I had mine about three days when it started freezing on me every once in a while. I has since stopped.  i can say they are very dependable my husband dropped his in the toilet and all we had to do was replace the battery. works like a charm no problems what so ever from it. So I would recommend this phone to anyone especially if you text alot the keyboard comes in so handy for that.
