I am on the Internet a good portion of the day everyday. Whether I am writing a review as I am doing now or just surfing around, I love to have music in the background. I used to play CD's but I get bored listening to an entire CD from one artist. One day while I was surfing the net, I stumbled upon Pandora Radio. I couldn't believe that I could customize radio stations and listen to them free! — About Pandora and How It Works — Musicians and music-lovers founded Pandora in the year 2000. The basic premise of the site is that the user can create his or her own radio "stations" by… read full review »

Intro — My son and I were looking up a new music function on Firefox and found something even better, pandora.com. The two of us were so excited at what we found, that I immediately set up a free account for myself and another for my son. Neither one of us have listened to any other music when on our computers since we found this website. — — Creating Your Own Stations — At pandora.com, it allows you to make your own preset music stations that play continuously on their website. You choose an artist or a song, and the website puts together a string of songs that are… read full review »

What if your radio was customized to your taste?  — It's a great time to be alive, because that's precisely what Pandora offers:  radio stations that you easily train to be "smart" and which will only play music that appeals to your particular taste! — The Music Genome Project — My new hero is Tim  Westergren, who founded The Music Genome Project.  He and several techies and musicians set out to categorize all the music they could find by its musical attributes:  melody, rhythm, instrumentation, minor/major key.........all the things that combine to… read full review »

I love pandora. Have you been? If not, go there now! — Pandora.com is a great website that helps you find music that you might like. — Here's how it works. — You tell it a band you like. Then, it goes to work finding you music that you may like.  It quickly and smartly finds other similar bands/songs that have common characteristics. Then, they play you each song. (like the radio) Along the way, you can give the songs thumbs up or thumbs down to make it smarter. (kind of like the GMAT.) — So, what do I like about pandora? —… read full review »

I decided to try this after reading Libby McMillan's review (shameless plug). — Let me start by saying that I have extremely eclectic tastes in music.  A partial list of the artists I like includes: Madonna, Michael Jackson, George Strait, Kathy Mattea, Earth Wind & Fire, Ashanti, The Spice Girls, Alison Krauss, Ludacris, and Jay-Z. — Ok, so the site allows you to create multiple radio stations based on music you like.  You do this by adding "seeds" to a station.  A seed is a song or artist you like.  You then hear music that is similar to what you… read full review »

The Music Genome - mapping the music you love best. — I've seen Genomes mapped out for Authors, and I've never seen the Genome which drives Pandora, but it doesn't really matter. —  What the genome does, is it shows you what you know - and then expands on it to show you what you don't know - in a related form, style, type of music.  You will learn more about different artists that you didn't know about  by listening to Pandora. — I think I made 21 different stations based on a song or an album/artist that I liked.  I could switch according to mood and… read full review »

I LOVE Pandora!  It's a free website where you can enter a favorite artist or song and its "music genome" will select additional songs that you'd enjoy.  It's constantly adding additional music.  It even will play classical music now!  I've learned about several musicians that I'd never encountered!  I was fortunate enough to come across some information about Pandora more than a year ago in a magazine.  I use it nearly every day.  It's a great way to learn more about music and broaden your musical horizons. — There are a few drawbacks to Pandora,… read full review »

www.pandora.com is a great alternative to AM/FM radio, it is over the internet and has no static like normal radio can. Unfortunately I cannot compare Pandora Radio to Satellite radio but unlike satellite Pandora is free. On Pandora you can type in and artist or a song and it will create a music station catered around what was entered, it's so great. You'll be amazed at the variety in their song bank, so check it out, but one word of caution---don't say you like a song on their thumbs up or thumbs down rating feature. The reason I say this is because the will overplay the songs you… read full review »

What I love about Pandora is the idea that you can pick one of your favorite songs, or favorite artists, type it in, and suddenly you have this Pandora's box of beauty playing for you! I have found so many new bands and fantastic songs because of Pandora. I'm not someone who likes to spend a lot of money on music - this way, before I invest in a new band or genre, I can listen to it first - and get recommended some of the best songs around. It's really quite revoluationary. I never get annoyed or bored with any station I choose to play on… read full review »

I love Pandora!! To me, it's the best radio on the net. I play the music "I" like. There are no commercials, so It's music all the time. If I'm not in the mood for that song, I can put it on the self for one month or just skip it this time. the only bad thing about Pandora is.... you can't repeat a song when you want. There are times when I'm not at my desk and I miss a song I haven't heard in a long time. I have to wait until Pandora wants to play it again. But that's OK. the station is one that I… read full review »

Although there are some minor "limitations", there really isn't much to complain about with Pandora. Sure there's quite a bit of advertising on the site but so what? All you have to do is sign up your email address and that's it folks! You're on your way to free music! It's as easy as that! You can also share your stations with others and vice versa......I've come across a lot of new artists that I had never heard of that really peaked my interest. Sign up today! You won't be… read full review »

Pandora is a wonderful way to find new music. Just type in your favorite song or artist and the website will analyze the song or artist's qualities and play other songs with similar aspects. It lets you say whether you like or dislike the songs it plays and narrows or brodens its selection by your tastes. It has background information on artists and you can have countless different stations. Although it does have ads that can only be expected given that it's… read full review »

Pandora is great for finding new artists and music that you like.  It is more than easy to give a song title or artist which is then matched to a music "station" that you should like.  I love to listed to it at the office, or at home!  I love that it is free - and the sound is pretty good, as well.  Rating music makes the stations work better, and I love mixing the stations together.  What a great customizable site! —… read full review »

great love it it's amazing.  much like a radio, without commercials.  you get to pick the artist and song.  I haven't looked at it lately but i've always refferred to pandora whenever i needed some music and i was getting sick of the music i had.  also a very good way of discovering new artists or songs.  What i love is you can pick the artist and it'll show you other artists like the one you chose.
