Pandora is the coolest thing ever . . . and now it's available for iPhone.
If youre a music lover and you haven't yet discovered Pandora, just go there now.  It will change your life!  :-D   Pandora has determined the many musical qualities of every song you can imagine (and tons you've never heard of and might not ever find on your own) in what it calls the Music Genome Project.   This brilliant move allows your Pandora station to know what you like by the very first song you enter into your own customized radio station. 
Then it fills up your station with songs that have similar qualities (things like harmonies, minor/major key, upbeat tempo, etc).  You do NOT have to understand music or be a musician to use Pandora.  Just know a couple of songs you like and this program does the rest; it "learns" what you like and don't like and continues to refine your station(s).

The Pandora App brings all your established stations to your iPhone!  
WOO HOO!!!   All the stations I set up on my computer are now accessible with one touch, from my iPhone screen.  So now, when I'm walking, or waiting at a doctor's office, or on a long car ride, I can just choose my favorite Pandora station and put on my headphones.  It's fantastic.

Here's the really cool part.  You can even set up a new station on your iPhone.  so if you're out and about and hear a new song, or discover an artist who has recordings, you can start a station right then and there. 

The only downside.....
This app doesn't run in the background.   It's all or nothing.   No checking your mail without losing your station.  Apple, are you reading this? 

Discover cool tunes in new genres
Pandora opens up the whole world of music to its users.   Have some fun and type in some oddball keywords to find new music:  Pakistan (I got alt rock), piano (I got the late Nicolette Larson).  Pandora also makes holiday tunes available in sevearl formats;  this year's Peaceful Holidays was better to send out than a Christmas card.
