Watching television is something that we enjoy with a passion, and that also encompasses being a fan of movies and videos on tape.  We have a rather large VHS collection of movies, and even more shows that we have recorded, so our use of a VCR goes without saying.  With this Panasonic TV/VCR combination, we get the best of both worlds in a compact version of both electronic devices.  The television itself is a 13 inch screen (corner to corner diagonally), with the VCR controls and compartment located below the screen on the front.  There are separate buttons for both the TV controls and the VCR controls, and they are all clearly marked to insure that you don't confuse the two.  They also are shaped differently, with the VCR having depressed controls and the TV having little buttons that extend from the machine.  There is also a nice sized power button that you can hit when you are done with either of the devices.

The clear picture and nice colors of the screen make it quite nice for either the bedroom or an office within your home.  If you so wish, it has a "nite" mode that you can turn on if you want to dull the picture while you are trying to fall asleep.  If that doesn't work for you, this combo device also has a sleep timer that can shut itself off using increments of 30 minutes when you hop into bed.  This way you aren't leaving the television on all night while you are sleeping.  In addition to the nice picture this device affords you, it also sounds pretty nice with the speaker located on the front right of the VCR controls.  Though you won't get the high level of bass that you might want from a big screen, if you keep the sound under control, you are going to get a crisp and clear sound coming out at all times.  It also helps that the television is meant for smaller areas, because it helps the sound be contained, and uninterrupted by noise.

If you have a DVD player or gaming system, there are places on the front left to hook either of them up for use.  This system also comes with a nice remote that is easy to control in the dark by the feel of the different sized/shaped buttons for the VCR and TV, and it also has many different controls to use on those designated devices.  It works from across the room, and responds to the receiver on the front corner of the system.  Really there are only positive things that I can say about this set, and there have been no problems with the television set, or with the performance of the VCR component.  It has played all tapes, it records shows quite well, and it has a fast RW/FF function so we aren't wasting time playing around.  If that doesn't sell you, this system also has the ability to play radio stations much as you would flip through TV stations.  So, you can listen to music as you drift off to sleep at night if you so choose.  Good as a device in the bedroom, or even the kitchen, this is a great unit that sells for around $150 on the market.  I think it is well worth having if the facets appeal to you, and it gets my assured recommendation.

MANY years ago, a video store went out of business and we bought a TON of VHS tapes at $1 and $2. So, we have a TV like this and I love it because we don't need to have a seperate player. We use it as the "sick" TV LOL It goes where ever the sick person is - works out great because even if they have TV's in their rooms, we have many movies ONLY on of the VHS tapes so they are a treat to watch.

I think this is the same one my son has and it has been running like a trooper. We have a ton of VHS tapes so this TV comes in quite handy!

VHS? What's that ;) Just teasing! We have a few VHS tapes but we haven't even replaced our worn out VCR this year... but if we ever decide to watch those again, a combo might be nice.
