Wonderful HDTV!

5

Panasonic is probably one of the most overlooked companies for HDTV's. Overprices brands such as Sony or Samsung in the market are producing the same quality, but at a higher price for just the name of the brand. Panasonic provides quality and affordable prices for the average consumer. This HDTV is definitely clear and contains great high definition capabilities like the rest of its higher-priced competitors. This is the way to go if you're on the look-out for an HDTV! Picture Quality Just like any other Sony or Samsung brand. Great quality! Provides a crisp 1080p resolution and nothing less! Sound Quality Most HDTV's have a little trouble with the sound quality. This set is above average, but not the best. Durability Definitely built to last. This will be around as long as you want it to be without any mis-care. Design 42 inches designed in a compact television and has a nice stand to it. Performance does everything an awesome HDTV will do at a lower cost.

Panasonic: a trusted and reliable brand

5

We purchased our Panasonic TC-L42U25 42 in. HDTV-Ready LCD TV about five years ago. From the first day of setting it up at home, we have had no issues with our television. We have a great picture, wonderful sound, and so many options to customize our watching experience. We have since moved into our new home, taking our television with us, and it has successfully made the move. it still has the same great picture and sound, just as when we purchased it. Also with having small children we love that the television has durable metal straps to keep it in place with no worries of it falling. the straps connect right to our stand and the tv doesnt budge.

Clear image

I absolutely love this television. The screen is extremely clear, even with my glasses on! The sound is really good too and I can easily hear it across a large room without increasing the volume. The volume level depends more on what you are watching because sometimes some commercials are very loud. This tv is great for movies. Unlike other tvs it's not overly clear and still looks like you are watching a movie. Some tvs look like its the news. The remote has a large range, but can be easily blocked. There are also different settings to change the screen size. I would not recommend getting this with a DVD because I had to use 2 different remotes with very specific instructions. It was just too confusing. I have never used Netflix with this tv or any other Internet functions, so I can not say how well it works. Durability Had for I believe 4 years

Great tv

So the other day, i was walking my dog at the dog park which he loves to go to every other tuesday of the month of january and after his potty break, you know, the one he takes before trying to sniff around for a mate, i made the desicion the grover and I should be watching our favorite shows in hd. Since our tv belonged to my aunt sophie whom tragically passed away last June, I decided that her memory can still live on even if I get rid of the one and only thing she left me. So the next day I went to walmart and asked for help on a good tv. I was led to this one by an employee that currently owns one too! Once I got the massive box in my smart car, i was on my home with what I didn't know at the time a new chapter in my life. Easy to set up, this tv had a crystal clear picture and excellent sound quality. Now grover and I enjoy playing dance dance revolution with my brand new xbox I also got that day too. I enjoy the kinect with the xbox because I like to see Grover on the big screen after it scans his body.

I love this product i dont even know where to start. I should love the product because i goes with everything thats in my house. It has amazing quality on the tv it self. Very good design this tv has. If someone asked my about this product i would but all five thumbs up on it. I wish i got the 50inch tv because this tv feals a little small. I bought this TV 3 weeks ago. It was very easy to integrate it into an existing home theater set up. The picture was very dark from day 1. I found the filters in the Menu and turned them off and the picture improved nicely. But I found that everything on the screen was too green. No matter how much I fiddled with the available color menu I couldn't get the green out. I contacted [...] and chatted with one of their CSRs. He walked me through a reset of the TV that wasn't available in the Menu. It involved pushing the menu button on the remote while holding down the volume down button on the TV, then unplug the TV for a minute or so. This did reset the color in the TV and I now have a beautiful picture. A few days later the TV began shutting it self off every 3 hours. I haven't used any timers in the menu so I may have to contact Panasonic again. Panasonic was very helpful with my previous color problem so that is a great relief.

A great TV

After saving for what seemed like a lifetime, my husband and I purchased this television for Christmas as a family gift. It hangs over our fireplace and looks great. The remote was easy to navigate and set up was straight forward. We had no issues getting it hung on the wall (with a bracket purchased seperatly) or connected to our other components. The picture is amazingly clear, even without the HD package that our cable company offers. There are a couple of things I think Panasonic could improve upon. I do wish the television was a little thinner. I is significantly wider than the smaller version we purchased for our bedroom. I also wish the plug was designed a little differently. It is a traditional plug and the extra space that it requires makes our TV stick out even further than just the profile. This was discouraging, but we ended up recessing the electrical box into the wall. Seemed like a lot of work for a problem that could be easily corrected.

Reliability is how I relate Panasonic

4

With the dropping prices of flat panel TVs, Panasonic is still leading the market with not only the top technology Plasma, as well as LCD and LED. Provided U series is on the low end, the panel is still the same as the S series and very reliable minus all the extra do-hikkies like wireless, internet etc. That is what the Blu-Ray and other prephirels are for. 42" is a good size TV in this century whereas 27" used to be the norm for tube TVs. For under 600, this is a good deal for a LCD tv with LED backlight. Keep in mind Backlight is real thing vs the Edgelight, which is not the same. With 120Hz the motion is much better than the original 60Hz TVs, yet the reason I didn't give 5 stars is because, 240Hz is there, and neither come close to Plasma's 600Hz. All of these are available by Panasonic, just depends whats it worth your money. Still overall this is a good TV with bring contrast and will blow out the competion in it's class hands down. Besides I'll bet my money on Panasonic's reliability anytime.

Great TV! Awesome picture quality and an energy saver!

I've only owned this for about two weeks. But I love it! I bought it to replace my old 32" Magnavox LCD which I had for 3 years and was happy with. It is a bit heavy but it is 42" LCD so I'm ok with it. Pretty easy to setup all by myself without additional help. The picture quality is mucher better than my old LCD. Dark is very dark and color is really vivid. I've watched several 1080p HD movies on it and enjoyed them very much. Many people were complaining about the sound quality but I'm using external speaker system through optical so I can't comment on that. One thing I do notice is when my view angle changed, the picture becomes lighter/darker. I was a bit disappointed at first since IPS panel should be very good at this. Then I discovered that if I turn the backlight off, then there is no view angle problem anymore.  So generally it is a very good buy and I would recommend it to anybody. Oh there is one more thing I just discovered. I use the "kill-a-watt" to measure the power consumption and it is only 60 watts when I watch a movie! Even my old 32" LCD take 100W. It looks like it is also lower than many LED.

L42U25 Review by Robby

This tv is great. Being a Plasma TV the viewing angles are much better than LCD. And Panasonic had very little image retention. For a budget this is the one to buy! The warranty and customer service of this TV are very good.

Pretty Good, Sound was a bit low

4

So I was in need of a new TV and I heard that Panasonic tvs were really good so I decided to get one. After hours upon hours upon hours, i finally decided to settle down with this TV. At first, I was pretty nervous because i had heard that HDTVs usually have low sounds but I figured I would get over it and eventually, I did. I hooked up everything and the picture was AMAZING. It was crystal clear. One of the problems was that the sound WAS a little low but like i said, I got over it. I am really impressed at how amazing the picture was. The movies were especially amazing. I have a blu-ray player, also from Panasonic. The movies were extremely crisp and absolutely amazing. To fix the sound problem, I hooked up the TV to a couple of Sony Speakers I had bought a while ago and the sound just blew me away. It was low but the sound was also incredbily crisp. I definitely do not regret buying this tv.
