Panasonic - Lumix DMC-TZ3 Digital Camera Review

We bought this camera a year or so ago.  I'm not totally clueless when it comes to technology or cameras, but definately want things that are as easy as possible.  I wanted pretty much point and shoot technology, but one that had a decent zoom feature too.  We had another digital camera that was okay, but this one takes fantastic pictures.  With the 10X zoom, you can get great close ups, it has settings for daylight scenery, night time scenery and macro mode for close ups of flowers, etc.  We just got back from 12 days in Alaska and the pictures are phenomenal.  The camera is nice sized with a large digital display.  I had over 500 pictures on one card.   

It has a few drawbacks, such as no regular viewfinder and it has a special rechargable battery.  Both those were a problem on our recent trip.  When it is extremely sunny, I could see my reflection in the viewfinder instead of what I was trying to take a photo of.  Also since the special battery needs to be recharged, when it went dead on a side excursion, I couldn't just buy batteries for it.  I should have had an extra battery along, but I didn't.  All in all a great camera for the money.
