We reviewed many reviews online before selecting a camera. This camera is the most you can get for a fair amount of money. It does alot and is very simple to use. It even has a "simple" mode for the less technical person.  I use it all the time and always keep it handy. I have three kids and I don't... review »

I got my digital camera last Christmas from my mom and was a little bit disappointed at first, because it wasn't what I asked for. I'm personally a fan of small cameras that don't have the lump sticking out for extra grip, but some people like that, just for a little security when you're worried about...

I love my camera and love to sing its praises! My camera is a Panasonic DMC-LZ7. It is 7 megapixels. Megapixels are important when it comes to enlarging your photos. I have enlarged photos to 11x17 with my 5 megapixel version of this camera with amazing results. Many cameras now come standard 10 megapixels, yet I do not believe that is so important when you can get professional looking enlargements with even a 5 megapixel.

Now to talk zoom. The biggest selling point to me for my camera was the 6x optical zoom. There is no other camera I could find, in my price range anyway, that has a 6x optical...

This inexpensive Compact has very good image quality, produces images with Good sharpness and some noise. Performs very well in next-shot delay, which is very short. It lagged in performance in first-shot delay, with more than other cameras. Has excellent dynamic range, which allows this camera to shoot photos in a wide variety of shooting situations

The Lumix DMC-LS85 is a digital camera available from Panasonic.

Standard features include:

  • Face detection : Yes
  • Wide angle : No

I received this camera as a Christmas present and could not be more pleased with it.  I have dropped it several times in snow, water, on rocks, etc and it still works!  There are chips on the casing, but it works very well still.

It can zoom up to 36x, which is the most I have ever seen out of a $125 camera.  The pictures it takes are excellent.  I am using it for my photography class at university and it is perfect.  The camera has lots of pre-set modes for people who aren't camera-savvy (including some cool ones like candlelight, fireworks, etc that I'd not seen in a camera before).  You...

The Panasonic DMC-LZ7 is a GREAT camera. A few features that I think are most important is that it uses AA batteries--either rechargeables or single-use. That is MUCH cheaper than the lithium rectangular batteries that many of the compact cameras use. And the AA batteries, even rechargeables, last a long time--up to 200-300 shots, even using fill-in flash most of the time. Another feature is the 2.5" LCD screen. But be careful, some other models in this Panasonic series  have only a 2.0" screen. The camera has so many features that I am still learning new things, even though I have had the camera...

I was very impressed with this camera.  The quality of the pictures is outstanding.  I was quickly able to tell this was a quality camera when I took a picture 2-3 feet away and was able to read the address written on a piece of paper behind the person I was taking the picture of.

There are a lot of options and set up features for the camera for a more experienced camera user.  I am not experience and was able to get quality pictures from the camera with ease.

The lcd screen on the camera is also great and the zoom feature is really easy to use.

The only draw back I saw was that because of the...

This camera was recommended to us by a friend who is a professional photographer.  She uses a Panasonic with a Leica lens for everyday photos of her family, etc.  Leica has been making lenses for more than 50 years and their commitment to quality is now extended to the lenses they make for Panasonic/Lumix.  This is a digital camera and has 7.2 megapixels, but the photos come out looking as if they have 10.

Sometimes the gadget-y side of the techno geeks who designed it show through--there is a pet setting, for instance, which will caculate the age of the pet if you put in its birthday.  It's...

The Panasonic DMC-Lz7 is a great value of the cost. It takes great, clear pictures and is good in different lights. It's video function is also pretty good. However, because the camera doesn't cost as much as others might, you have to sacrifice a couple things. There is no view finder (just the digital screen) and I've heard some call the camera "bulky" (it's not super slim, but it's really not that bad). I really don't think either of those traits make this an inconvenient camera to use. If you don't need all the bells and whistles of a "professional" camera and are just looking for a reliable... review »

The Panasonic-Lumix DMC-LZ7 is a great digital camera for beginners and advanced photograpers alike. This camera not only shoots color pictures but black & white and sepia toned photographs as well. It can be a little intimidating at first unless you just want to point and shoot. It has a little dial with different pictures to help you make your best selection when taking a picture. It also has a review status on the dial that will let you look at all the pictures you have taken so far.

Awesome camera. I did some research before choosing this one and I made the right choice. Very durable and comes with many features for the price. I love the zoom range!  It takes awesome close-up shots and has different color options that can put unique spins on photos.  I would definitely recommend this camera to anybody looking for quality at a low price.

Good fetchers for the price, 7.2 Mega Pixel 6x Optical zoom.  Works with most SD cards.

The unit has a nice 2.5 inch display.

I don't like the proprietary connecter that is required to connect the unit to my PC and my TV.   Also the warranty on the unit is only 3 months.  Other wise this is a great unit.

My husband and I are electronically challenged and struggle to operate even simple items.  The Panasonic Lumix has been a great camera for us...we can operate it with ease and our pictures have come out great.  We just returned from a trip to China and got some great photos with this inexpensive, easy to use camera.

I received this camera as a gift. I have enjoyed it. It is easy to use... easy to set up... and takes great pictures. I have used it at birthday parties, weddings, outdoor scenes, etc... I would recomment this camera to anyone who likes to take pictures but not into the professional side of picture taking.

I've had this camera for a couple of years and am very pleased with it. The 6x zoom is perfect for my family's needs and the anti-shake feature on the camera is great. There is no optical viewfinder, though...makes it hard to see what your shooting when in bright light conditions.
