The Panasonic DMC-LZ7 is a GREAT camera. A few features that I think are most important is that it uses AA batteries--either rechargeables or single-use. That is MUCH cheaper than the lithium rectangular batteries that many of the compact cameras use. And the AA batteries, even rechargeables, last a long time--up to 200-300 shots, even using fill-in flash most of the time. Another feature is the 2.5" LCD screen. But be careful, some other models in this Panasonic series have only a 2.0" screen. The camera has so many features that I am still learning new things, even though I have had the camera for nearly a year. But with "Intelligent ISO" setting, you can start using it practically without ever reading the owners manual. The
