I have really enjoyed this Lumix digital camera!

This Panasonic Lumix Digital camera has been really great!  The HD video has really amazing quality for such a small camera.  I like how I can zoom while using the HD video.  Its easy to turn the video on and the quality is even better than my videocamera!  The pictures are high quality too.  This camera has 12 pixels and when I zoom it up with my photo software, it still looks great.  When I had a 6 pixel camera, it wouldn't let me zoom up nearly as close and keep its quality.  I enjoy all the different features, like different scenes (portrait, scenery, night, etc)  I have to keep mine on the "Sports" scene to keep my pictures from being blurry with my busy kids.  Its easy to use and the camera will automatically turn itself off when I leave it on.  That helps the battery life quite a bit.  Its a great size too and fits in my pocket.  This camera is a great value and has high quality for the low cost.

We love how fast our Lumix Camera can take pictures.

We have had our Lumix Camera for about six months now. We had out previous digital camera for over three years and the rechargable batteries just weren't cutting it anymore. We were buying batteries every month, which really adds up. We were looking for a couple specific things in our next camera purchase. We wanted the built-in rechargable battery, in hopes it would last longer than our previous camera. We also wanted something with a pretty small profile so that I could stuff it in my purse to take it with us. We have two small children and didn't like the idea of missing things because our camera was too big. Finally, and most important to us (ok, other than price) was the save and recharge speed. You know, how long you have to wait between pictures. This had to be as fast as possible, since we have the two young ones who don't really care for holding still in cute poses. Well the Lumix has been wonderful. The save/recharge speed is much much faster than any of the other cameras we tried in the store, and if it isn't fast enough still and you don't need a flash, is has a fast frame setting where you can take a bunch of slightly lower quality pictures at an increased speed...like several per second. We've used that setting on a couple occasions and really loved it. It can help you catch sports moments a lot better. Overall, we love it, it is great and I really do take it everywhere.

Decent Cheap Point and Shoot

3

I purchased this for a vacation as an alternate camera.  I did not want to risk ruining my well loved camera or possibly leaving it behind.  For the price, this is a decent camera. The biggest thing I look for in a point and shoot camera is a good auto focus.  Unfortunetly that is where this camera falls short for me.  This camera does take decent pictures.  It is not that you cannot tell who was in the photo of that they are completely out of focus... but in general the focus is always just... slightly off.  I played with it for quite a while and had better results eventually, but this isn't a camera that will give you great shots right out of the box.  I found myself constantly having to change to various scene modes to get the best quality picture (which meant taking photos was much less sponaneous and I missed some really great shots) or I was manually adjusting the focus.  Both cost time and to me in some way or another negate the reason for purchasing a point and shoot.  I am sure there are some out there that love to fuss like that, but if I am going to fuss I'd rather fuss with my DSLR.  This is not a bad camera, but there are better options around there in the same price point with better auto focus software.  Due to this, I really can't recommend this camera unless you purchase it at a killer price point.  Your money is just better spent somewhere else.

Love Panasonic Lumix Cameras

Back in my college days, you wouldn't find me without a digitcal camera around my wrist or in my purse/backpack.  I wore out digitcal cameras due to such frequent use, and usually bought a new one every year or two. Now, I don't take as many pictures as I did then, but still like to have a nice digital camera. Of the 4 or 5 digitcal cameras I've owned, the last 3 have been Panasonic Lumix's.  From seeing how great mine worked, my father and sister have also each purchased a Lumix or two. What makes these cameras better? They focus on OPTICAL zoom over digital zoom.  So many cameras brag about their digitcal zoom, which is almost a pointless feature, and megapixels, which is often more than the typical person needs.  Optical zoom, however, is the #1 attribute I look for in a camera.  Panasonic Lumix cameras have always provided the best optical zoom at the lowest price. It's almost time for me to get my next digitcal camera and I already know what I will get.
