We've owned a Panasonic KX-TGA270S for a couple years now. I honestly think it was the best phone purchase we've ever made. We own the base station and have 7 KX-TGA270S expansion phones.
The phone has caller id, 5 number memory redial, conference call feature, and my favorite feature call transferring. If I pick up a call I can notify another family member anywhere in the house that they have a call. This feature is private, so the caller is on hold while I am communicating with another person about the call. They can chose to take the call or I can retrieve it.
The phone also acts as an intercom. I can call other rooms in the house. No need to shout or knock on the ceiling. It's really quite handy and can save a few steps or some time.
Overall quality is excellent. Our phones have hit the ground more than once without a problem. Range is very good. I take one of the units outside when I am working in the yard and it is useable at the corners of a 1/4 acre lot. Haven't tried to go much further than that.
Battery life is very good. We haven't had to replace the batteries very often. On the most used phones a battery lasts more than a year. None of the charging bases have failed us yet.
I would recommend this phone system to friends or family.
