We needed to replace the batteries in our old 2.4 GHZ phones and discovered the new  technology of the DECT 6.0 phones.  With some research we decided on the Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System - 4 Handset System (KX-TG9334T) and haven't looked back.  There is absolutely NO interference with the WIFI network.  Amazing.

This unit sets up so easy even I can do it!  Any choices that you make on the base unit will automatically be added to the handset units.  Each individual handset has separate volume controls. There is conference calling as well as the ability to use it as an intercom between handsets.  The caller ID has a history of 50 names so you can search for that odd number for quite some time [depending on how many calls you receive].  The phone talks to you when a call is incoming and tells you who is calling [if the call has a caller ID attached to it].  The talking phone can be pretty funny at times because it may mispronounce the names.  It also won't shut up so if you don't want to hear it you are out of luck although you can set the phone to night mode and it won't ring out-loud.

The one feature I really like about this set is that it doesn't take expensive phone batteries.  Each handset runs on 2 AAA Ni-MH batteries that operate for pennies and are easy to replace and the unit is energy star rated because of it.  It also has a call block feature that allows you to enter phone numbers that you don't want to receive calls from.  When that number calls they simply get a busy signal.  How cool is that?

Other great features with this set is that you can retrieve messages from any handset,  the answering machine doesn't record hangups, has a good phone-book capability.  Some not so great features are that the answering machine merely blinks but doesn't show how many messages are waiting and the phone-book doesn't have the ability to assign several numbers to one contact.  Great phone for the price.  Time will tell how annoying the quirks will be.

I wish I had bought that one. I have a new one with 3 handsets but it's dumb. Only the base rings for one and there is no conference call/intercom like every phone on earth usually has. It sounds OK but the ringer is so low that I never hear it. Blah.

I have a Panasonic too but mine came with only 3 handsets. I love it though!

Wow! Wow! and again, Wow! I have 2 cordless phones and a baseline. My Uniden has lasted for 8 or more years, knock on wood. I have been thinking about getting the talking phone but wasn't sure if I wanted one. My best friend says it works better if you have call waiting; which I don't, because then while you are taking one call the talking phone will tell you who the income caller is. That is pretty cool. I need to share this review with Lori because for the past 2 years she hasn't had any luck in finding good cordless phones that will give her good reception.

I only need one phone or I guess one up and one downstairs. Sounds good if you need lots of hand sets. ;>
