The DVD-RV22 is an excellent player for any individual.  It's highly reliable playback and fantastic display is one for it's time.  The combo makes it a delicious to not only movie enthusists but to music lovers as well.  The controsl are easy to comprehend on the player and the remote as well.  The fallbacks are not as high to overcome the pros such as a bit noisy at times during the playback.  Overall, the DVD-RV22 is a sweet player for the price.

***The Case*** I've always been a big film/television buff, and, as such, it's imperative that I have a great, reliable DVD player.  I ended up receiving the Panasonic DVD/CD player years ago as a Christmas gift, and since then, I haven't had to worry.  The Panasonic DVD-RV22 is the most reliable, problem-free piece of electronic equipment I've ever owned.  There's really not much else to say! ***The Good*** I can't stress enough how absolutely effortless this DVD/CD player has been.  It's never frozen up.  It's never broken down.  It's never scratched a disc.  I know these are all things you'd expect from a player, but I've been surprised by how many friends of mine have had nothing but problems with certain DVD players that they've purchased.  Either the setup is a hassle, or the options and settings are a pain, or the player malfunctions two weeks in, or it won't accept any disc that has even a hint of a scratch on it.  Based on all of that, my player is God's gift!  I've found that's it's very reliable when it comes to rented or previously viewed DVDs because it can handle a good amount of scratching and still play the movie without that terrible digital jumbling that usually occurs.  It plays CDs as well, which is wonderful for me since I'm on a student budget and just don't have the cash to go out and get a really nice, stand alone CD player.  Overall, I have no complaints! ***The Bad*** I got the DVD player a few years back now, and there are more updated models out there, so if you're looking for a state-of-the-art, top-of-the-line player, you might want to bypass the DVD-RV22 (however, I still recommend the Panasonic brand itself).  One of the only real frustrations I've had with the player is that it doesn't like any type of DVD except the most common, store-bought ones.  You can forget using your DVD-Rs in this baby!  Still, as players, go, I'd take durability and reliability over versatility any day! ***The Verdict*** Four stars!  Panasonic has definitely succeeded in impressing me when it comes to the high-quality, long-lasting DVD-RV22 DVD/CD player!
