This player does a very inconsistent job of upscaling DVDs to 1080p. It depends heavily on the DVD and probably on the quality of DVD encoding. DVDs of animated movies such as The Incredibles, Cars, and Wall-E upconvert outstandingly and are even improved by the process. Lord of the Rings is impressive...

I recently bought a Panasonic - DMP-BD35K Blu-Ray Player and it is such a great movie watching experience. I connect the BluRay Player to my HDTV and everytime I watch a movie now, it really feels like I am in my own movie theater. We love our Hd Blu Ray Player its almost like seeing it in a live version its so clear and it sounds so great. The Clarity of the picture is perfect. The fact that it plays regular dvds and home made ones is great it brings out a better quality of picture in them. The Blu ray player is slim and lighter than the older versions.
