Gorgeous picture quality, easy set up

By

from North Brunswick, NJ

Comments about Panasonic Blu-Ray Player:

Panasonic produces some of the most solid, reliable Blu-Ray players on the market. We've had this player for approximately 3 years, and the picture and sound quality are outstanding. The "deep black" technology gives Blu-Rays a sharp, color rich look, that is natural and beautiful. With all of the playability issues reported with certain discs, this player has never returned an error for an unplayable disc. The set up, and internet connectivity (wired) are easy and convenient and the company has consistently released any necessary patches, despite the fact that the player has been replaced by other models. The player is slim and visually appealing and fits perfectly in our set up in the livingroom. One draw back is the slowness of the BD Live experience, but that's not specific to this player, but rather the programming used for this feature.

A solid, basic blu-ray player

By

from San Antonio, TX

Comments about Panasonic Blu-Ray Player:

If you already have a decent sound system, then you won't be disappointed with this blu-ray player.  As with most players, the key to a satisfying viewing experience is to FIRST UPDATE THE FIRMWARE.  The 'software' that runs the player must be updated to resolve errors, bugs, and to accomodate new technology and content included in the latest blu-ray discs.

This is where I take one exception to this model - I haven't purchases a CD-R in months, I've used DVDs or portable hard-discs for all my back-up needs.  However when I last tried to update the firmware, I ran into a problem where the player would ONLY accept an update burned onto a CD-R (to be fair, it can also be plugged into a physical LAN-line, but my player is nowhere near a place to connect it).  I would have liked it if the player would also accomodate updates burned onto CD-RWs, DVD-Rs, or BD-Rs.

For an older model, this is a terrific player.  It doesn't have some of the features which are commonplace in today's mid-range models (WiFi, Netflix, Ipod docking), and it doesn't come with its own speakers, but if you're looking for a simple, sturdy player for the bedroom or study, this is the perfect choice.

Hurray for Blu-Ray!

By

from Landrum, SC

Comments about Panasonic Blu-Ray Player:

I got this Blu-Ray player for Christmas back in '08, and it has worked great. I had a bought a gaming chair back this past year, and had plugged it up to it, and got it working with it rather seamlessly. More recently, with the edition of being able to watch Blu-Ray 3D movies, rather than going out to buy or upgrade to a 3D HD TV, and 3D Blu-Ray player. You can still watch these new types of Blu-Ray movies on a standard Blu-Ray player. It just doesn't show them in 3D, but I'm happy with the present quality of alll of the movies I watch on it

The DMP-BD35K is a nice Blu-Ray player with some odd menus

By

from Wichita, KS

Comments about Panasonic Blu-Ray Player:

This Blu-Ray player produces some of the nicest 1080p images I've ever seen, with great contrast and sharp detail (it also does a very good job at upscaling standard definition DVDs), and it has great sound (altought it only put lossless sound out to HDMI, so I haven't been able to try that feature out yet). It's handsome and solidly built.  It is occasionally a bit slow loading DVDs, and very slow with some of the more elaborate extras (java-based, etc.), but worth the wait.  It does and excellent job detecting the need for software updates, and downloading them automatically (if you can connect it to your network via ethernet cable).  The menu system is pretty good, but some settings are esoterically places, and some basic operations are surprisingly tricky (returning to the main menu, etc.).  The SD card slot, with the ability to read Jpegs (and displaying them as a slide show) and MP3s, is a nice but not essential feature.  All around, this is a very nice product; although it is now a bit dated, this would still be a good product at the right price;  I've also heard that Panasonic's newer players have maintained the trend as catagory-leading products.

Great Movie Experience

By

from Las Vegas, NV

Comments about Panasonic Blu-Ray Player:

I recently bought a **Panasonic - DMP-BD35K Blu-Ray Player** and it is such a great movie watching experience.  I connect the BluRay Player to my HDTV and everytime I watch a movie now, it really feels like I am in my own movie theater.  It plays reguar DVDs and BluRay DVDs so it is the perfect accessory for your movie watching experience.  The device was easy to connect to my television and is lightweight and easy to setup.  The BluRay is small and compact so it fits neatly in your home and really looks fantastic.  The device plays movies in such high form with a great picture quality and a sound quality that is truly epoch.  I like that so many BluRay DVDs have so many special features and now I can enjoy them easily on this player.  The system also plays your SD cards so that you can watch your homemade videos easily on your television or view your photo albums in HD technology.  This BluRay device is great for a movie watching experience and really makes you enjoy watching movies.

We love our Hd Blu Ray Player its almost like seeing it in a live version its so clear and it sounds so great.  The Clarity of the picture is perfect. The fact that it plays regular dvds and home made ones is great it brings out a better quality of picture in them. The Blu ray player is slim and lighter than the older versions.

Now this is home video viewing at it finest!

By

from Aurora, IL

Comments about Panasonic Blu-Ray Player:

***Bottom-Line***: Love, love, love this player!

The **DMP-BD35K Blu-Ray** is a single-disc, DVD player that when connected with an HDMI cable play's Blu-Ray DVD's in your collection to 1080p when used with a compatible HDTV.  As an added bonus the unit can also play your CD's of all types, plus MP3 and JPEG files that have been burned onto CD-R's, CD-RW's, DVD's and other media. Dolby Digital surround sound decoding is built in, along with a DTS output. Other outputs include component video, HDMI, as well as an optical digital audio output.  And, as an added bonus the **DMP-BD35K Blu-Ray **will accept input from and SD-Media card; the slot is behind a panel in the right from of the unit.**  **

**The Unit **

The **DMP-BD35K Blu-Ray** features an HD Audio Decoder (*Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTSTM-HD Master Audio Essential*) capable of delivering 7.1-channel surround sound if mated to an A/V receiver equipped with 7.1-channel inputs and an HDMI terminal. The **DMP-BD35K Blu-Ray **can also output analog signals for 7.1-channel sound, so even receivers without an HDMI input can produce 7.1-channel surround sound.

The **DMP-BD35K Blu-Ray** features *BD-Live* compatibility, a technology that enables users to connect to the Internet to download Blu-Ray discs extra-contents and bonus features like subtitles, interviews, images, and other data.  BD-live also lets users partake in interactive activities and multi-player games linked to bonus cinema content found on Blu-ray Discs.  There is an RJ-45 port on the back of the unit for connecting to the internet.  Firmware updates can also be automatically downloaded and install on the player if it is connected to the internet.    **My Viewpoint **

All I can say is WOW!  Sight and sound: WOW!  The image and sound quality via Blu-Ray discs is outstanding!  Mated to my Sony HDTV the colors are rich, vibrant, shockingly sharp & clear, and everything I heard Blu-Ray could be.  Regular DVD disc playback is also outstanding and truth be told, there is little difference between the two formats.  And of course any audio formatting is also present.

The *Panasonic DMP-BD55K Blu-Ray1080p DVD Player*, the **BD35K's** big brother, brings more advanced audio processing to the table, but at a much higher price-point.  But, for my needs the **DMP-BD35K** fits the bill quite nicely, thank you.
