Exceptional quality

I really enjoy this toaster oven. First off, you can never go wrong with the Panasonic brand. I own many Panasonic appliances, and so far, they are the most durable appliances I have owned, from a TV set, CD player to a microwave oven. Second, what I love most about this toaster power-wise is the fact that it is an infrared-based oven, which means, unlike a microwave oven, from a scientific point of view, the energy of the infrared radiation is significantly lower than that of microwave due to its high wavelength. For this reason, the taste of the food is not distorted; so I decided to replace my old microwave oven with this infrared-powered oven simply because the meat warmed in the microwave oven usually get denatured and spoiled the taste. Another reason why I like this toaster oven is that unlike a traditional oven, I use it all the time during the summer when I do not want to overheat my place (I live in an area where summers are long and the oven heat is the last thing I want). This toaster oven is perfect for anything: warm food, defrost food, and even cooking various dishes. I mostly use it for mushrooms. Overall, it is a great product.

The best oven for toasting/reheating needs

5

The Panasonic NB-G100P is the perfect toaster oven for our needs. We have tried many others in the past with little success. Our worst experiences came with plain toasters that did not hold up to the demands of a busy household. After researching toaster ovens, my husband ordered this one and boy am I glad he did. This toaster oven does everything you would expect from a toaster oven and it does them well. We have used this to make toast, reheat coffeecake and muffins, cook frozen pastries and pancakes, reheat frozen pizza as well as cooking small items such as burritos. Everything was done well and most importantly, they were heated evenly through. This appliance allows you many options to cook your food: it functions as a toaster as well as a small oven where you control the temperature and the time. There are digital controls on the front of the unit that control the process as well as some preprogrammed choices such as reheat rolls. The cooking is accomplished by use of infrared lights so you do not need to wait for the oven to heat up if you are going to cook something. One warning: you must be sure to keep the inside clean. We have notices that the grime and gunk that accumulates interferes with the unit's ability to toast evenly. I hate unevenly cooked toast so at the first sign of that, out comes the rack and a good scrubbing usually solves the problem. Overall this is a great toaster oven. It has gotten a lot of use from us and hasn't failed us yet!

The toaster oven that could

5

The NB-G100P has proven to be the toaster oven that could (like the little engine that could.) I hesitated about buying this unit because of its footprint. I was replacing a 4 slice toaster (again!) and didn't want to lose more counter space. For the little additional space I gave up, I got a lot more. Finally, English muffins that are crisp yet not burned, and I can do two English muffins at a time. Toast that is golden, and just to my liking (after experimenting with two different settings and cooking minutes.) Then I crossed the threshhold, and actually used it to bake. It worked like a charm, and my small portions of food were cooked perfectly and with ease. The unit has proven to be durable and worth every penny I paid.

Pretty Neat Little Guy

I have owned this toaster oven for about five years now and it has worked like a champ. It certainly is a unique toaster oven since it uses light bulbs (easy bake oven?) instead of coils. The benefit is that it heats up right away. no waiting around for it to get up to temperature. I think that means eventually i'll have to replace those bulbs. who knows how expensive that will be. they look like they are very proprietary. can't say for sure though as none of them have burnt out yet. I suppose I have gotten my money's worht out of it at this point! some features of this toaster oven are a bit weird. the space is somewhat small compared to the giant toaster ovens you find at walmart these days. you can't fit a whole frozen pizza in there for example. i think its obvious this was made for the japanese diet (i.e. no massive meals). the other werid thing is that you can only do intervals of time and degrees. it starts at like 300 degrees and goes up in about 30 degree increments. also the timer only goes up to like 17 minutes. i really don't know whats up with that. i am glad i own it because it is neat to look at and unique. it also works well but has some strange quirks.

Panasonic NB-G100P Infrared Toaster Oven is close to perfect

4

The Panasonic NB-G100P 7.2-Quart 1300-Watt Infrared Toaster Oven is one of the best toasters I've ever used. It also has oven functions that aren't quite as good but come close. As long as you set the toasting level to the right one, your toast will come out perfect. For being compact, it can still fit quite a bit inside too.  The oven part is a little strange. Because it uses infrared heating technology, I never have to preheat it because it starts heating at the right temperature almost instantly. One drawback is that you can't select exact temperatures that aren't already preset. It also has strange preset temperatures such as 390º as opposed to a more regular 375º setting. It does usually cook evenly although some things might need to be defrosted before cooking otherwise they may cook unevenly. Overall this is one of the best toaster ovens I've ever used and has lasted a long time. With its infrared technology it does cook a bit differently by turning on and off to keep the oven at the correct temperature but that seems to work great to toast and cook.

I'll never get a different toaster oven

I have had this toaster oven for quite a while and cannot believe it has outlasted every other toaster oven I have ever owned.  I hope Panasonic keeps making this oven, I am even thinking of getting another as a spare in case this one ever goes!  I like all the features it has and use it not only for toasting but for baking items such as chicken nuggets and a small amount of french fries so I don't heat up my entire oven. What I like the most is how I can control the heat by degrees so easily and the number of minutes.  The other feature, my son loves is the roll reheating item which warms up a roll or piece of bread without toasting it.  It comes out perfect.  The amazing thing is that we have had this toaster oven for over 5 years and it is still working.  Nothing lasts very long anymore and this is a big compliment to Panasonic.  It has a frozen toast cycle which is good for frozen waffles so that you don't have to keep pressing the toast button more than once.  To do the french fries, there is a hash browns button you can use, you can also just use the baking function if you are not sure.  I would definitly get this toaster oven again instead of the 2-4 Black and Deckers I have had in the past.

A Perfectly Fine Kitchen Toasting & Cooking Utility

Ahh...the search for the perfect toaster; mine was never-ending, as was my search for the perfect toaster oven.  The need for a toaster in most kitchens is self explanatory; the need for a toaster oven is a bit more complicated.  Over the years I have owned perhaps two toaster ovens, I like to have them around to of course toast bread, English muffins and bagels.  There are times however, when what I want to cook a meal for one; a couple of chicken breasts or thighs, a pork chop or two, or perhaps I want to re-warm a slice or two of pizza.  These are times when I do not want to fire up the large capacity gas oven, and nothing cooks better than a toaster oven.  But alas our household had been sans a toaster oven since we moved in some four years ago, that is until my wife surprised me with the **Panasonic NB-G100P Toaster Oven** for Christmas three years ago.  Since then the white toaster oven that could toast a beautiful piece(s) of toast, waffles, and or bagels, but falls a little short of cooking, has nevertheless been a welcome addition to our kitchen.  **The Product **** ****      ** The **NB-G100P** is not your typical toaster oven; it uses FlashXpress Technology, an infrared light system that provides instant heat, thus eliminating the need to preheat the oven.  And for toasting this work well-and fast.  But it also means that you can now put your food in immediately and not have to wait for the oven to pre-heat. And contrary to most convention toaster oven layouts with their rotary dials, Panasonic went digital with **NB-G100P** and incorporated push-button controls and a digital readout.  On the front of the unit, underneath the oven door, there are a wealth of buttons including several pre-set buttons for food items you might cook frequently such as *toast, rolls, and pizza*.  For conventional cooking you can manually set the **NB-G100P's **temperature at between 250 and 500 degrees of instantaneous heat. When the **NB-G100P **is done cooking your food** **it will** **double-beep four times and then turn off. **My Viewpoint**** ** We primarily use the **NB-G100P** for toasting bread and bagels, and for re-heating rolls and pizza.  We rarely use it for cooking, although on occasion my wife or I will cook items like fish fillets, chicken thighs, tater tots, French fried etc. in the oven.  I attempted once to cook a small pork loaf in the oven and the results were disastrous: the outside cooked well, the meat browned as it was supposed to, but after 35 minutes the inside of the load was still pink in the center.  **A word of caution:** the **NB-G100P** does generate considerable heat, and it does get hot to the touch even when toasting.  In fact, to warm up the butter knife while toasting I will usually place the shallow pan onto of the oven and then place the knife in between the two.  This gets the knife hot enough in 2.0 minutes to slice through refrigerated butter with ease!    **Concluding Viewpoint ** After using the **NB-G100P** for three years I would have to say that I am very happy with the unit.  Though I do not do as much cooking in the oven as I could, we do use it frequently to toast all matter of breads.  The unit is attractive, easy to use and easy to clean.  If you want an above average replacement of that old marginal toaster, the **NB-G100P** by *Panasonic* may be the perfect kitchen utility.
