Panasonic - 42" Plasma 42PX60U Television Review Summary

Plasma televisions sometimes offer a little less refined picture quality than other flat screens, but one plasma television that has reviewers singing its praises is the Panasonic Plasma 42PX60U Television. Reviewers enjoy this plasma television for its clear, sharp, well- defined picture that makes sports and other viewing more enjoyable than before. The Panasonic Plasma 42PX60U Television offers a “Crystal Clear Picture that Exceeds Any Expectation of a Plasma” and while it can sometimes be inconsistent with its sound quality and it does generate a good deal of heat, the Panasonic Plasma 42PX60U Television still ranks among the better Television Sets available for purchase.

This is by far my favorite "big" purchase. At first I was wary because there was nothing wrong with our old 25" Tv but my husband really wanted a flat panel HD TV so we finally got it. And I LOVE IT!!!! What a difference. This particular set had the best picture of all the TV's at the store and it was a great value besides. The color is beautiful and the clarity is impeccable. We watch alot of sports so this is just awesome for the "big game". All of a sudden, we have company alot more! The sound is not the greatest coming throught the TV speaker but we ran it through our stereo and it is now... review »

I bought this tv at Circut City last week and I love it! Its worked great so far. I've read some bad reviews about this tv, but I haven't had a problem with it yet. It takes a lil bit to get the picture adjusted for analog cable, but once you do its amazing. It looks great with dvd and video games. I would recommend this tv.

This is a review for the panasonic 42" plasma television (HDTV). It is a superb buy for my needs and shows crystal clear. It does not have all options top of the line televisions have. But it definately has the basics which will do for me. The sound quality is very good, as well as the visual effects of the television.

I love this TV. I have had no problems with it since I hung it on the wall. We use it a combined 5+ hours per day. I would buy it again, and agian. Coror is good, picture sharp, when used in combination with a radio remote, as we have, it is usable throughout the house for TV or Music through Direct TV.

I did lots of research before I bought this TV for my family.  I was looking for a reasonable price for an HD TV.  I did not want to pay the price for a "cutting edge" TV.  This TV has met all my expectations. The picture is noticably better than a standard TV, the colors are deep and vibrant, and the screen is big! Yes, there are bigger, better TV's on the market, but I think this one is a great value.

I picked plasma over all the other HD TV types like LCD TV or projection TV based mostly on the price.  The other technologies were more expensive, or did not offer the same features.  Some...

We bought this TV as part of a black Friday shopping spree.  My wife and I never watch television, but we do watch several DVDs and VHS exercise programs every week.  The contrast is excellent with blacks that look great at any angle and the color is rich.

We don't watch any HD programming or high definition movies, so I can't comment on the HD picture.  I am a gamer and have hooked up my Nintendo Wii via component cables.  The 480p picture is perfect, but there is burn in if you game for more than two or three hours at a time.  This also occurs with any programming that places an icon on...

We've had this TV right at one year.  Bought it on "Black Friday" (day after thanksgiving) at about 5:30a.

It was a rush to buy the TV on the busiest shopping day of the year...the rush didn't stop there.  Seemingly every day we use the TV, we still get the RUSH.

I am a very practical and always look for a bargain and "best bang for the buck".  I did a lot of research before striking out to make the purchase.

As of last year, this Panasonic 42" was the highest rated and best on the market.  We looked at a LOT of plasma TV's and did visual comparisons.  Each time at different stores the results...

We purchased our Panasonic plasma about a month ago from Video Only.  We did quite a bit of research prior to our purchase and definitely felt like this was ideal for us.  This television was at the perfect price point of $1400.00.  Most of the comparable plasmas were substantially more money, well over $2000.00.  The thickness of the television is nice and thin, taking up less space than our previous rear projection television.  You can buy a kit to hang this plasma on a wall as well.  The clarity of the picture is crystal clear, especially on the channels that are broadcasted in High Definition. ... review »

The Panasonic 42 in. plasma tv was purchased for my grandson.  (he lives with me)  It is in the basement where he has his room.  When lucky, I am granted permission to join him watching dvds.  If he is annoyed, I come upstairs to watch my little 25 in. screen tv. After watching on the big screen, I cannot believe the difference.  I can see small details and even words and letters that I have been missing for years on the 25 in. tv.  My issue is that he plays it so long that I am worried that he will wear it out before it's time.  I hope this isn't the case.  It is awsome with the surround...

With a few adjustments from the factory settings this TV is unbelievable in HD.  Just after we bought it the Planet Earth series came on and we were mesmerized.  Even old black and white movies are very sharp.  You feel like you are right there.  We don't know if it is the TV or the cable company but we often have to turn the volume way up to hear the voices over the background music.  Seems like the background music is in the foreground.  It's possible it just needs some tweaking.

We looked at a lot of plasma and LCD TV's before buying.  We found the Panasonic looked consistently better...

Shopping around for our first HD plasma screen TV was beginning to give us headaches, so went to Consumer Reports once we had narrowed down our choices.  We had already decided we were inclined towards Panasonic as a good old reliable brand name so we were pleased to see Panasonic at the top of the list of 42 inch plasmas.  The proof, as always with TV, is in the "viewing".  When we got ours home and properly connected via additional  equipment for satellite HD TV viewing, it was worth it.  There are so many choices out on the market we let Consumer Report help us make our final selection... review »

I have had a few TV's. some good some not so good, my experance with PANASONIC has always given me pleasure. I do not have the model 42" Plasma 42PX60U you show but it starts out right with the size I need. I would like to know more about it, but we are off to a good start.                                                          Russ No1

This is a solid TV for a resonable price. I have owned this TV for over a year and my husband and I have absolutly noreal complaints. It is clear, high contrast, VERY adjustable, and just looks great.
The tv doesn't look very good if you plug a computer into it and try to use it to do any regular computer stuff (which I was aware of before I purcahsed it). If you plug it in to watch tv shows you have downloaded on your laptop... it does look pretty good.
Overall, it is wonderful. We recommended the tv to friends and they purcahsed it as well. They have also been very happy with it.
