Potty training is a tough time. I don't know but it seems harder this time round with my younger children.  Pampers Easy Ups are soft, full training pants designed for use to take your child from diapers to potty.  They are made with an elastic waist band so that children can take them up and down and the girls version comes with pretty pictures of Dora the Explorer- a popular character in my house.  They are more expensive than store brands at $9.99 a pack - and even more expensive than diapers.  There is approximately 24-34 in a pack depending on the size you purchase.

What I like about Pampers Easy Ups

Really nothing, they have been banned from the house.  See My Viewpoint.

What I don't like about Pampers Easy Ups

  • they waist band is too tight even going up a size didn't work on my rather slender daughter's waist
  • they rip from the sides easily
  • they don't fit well they ride down or slip over causing embarassing moments as my daughter attempt to fix it
  • they do not have refastenable sides so if you have an accident you have to undress your child, change the Pampers Easy Ups and then dress them again. While maybe ok at home it's a nightmare in a public bathroom.

My Viewpoint: Ok, so Pampers Easy Ups are cute, the girls love the Dora print.  It caused a real tantrum in my home when I put the open box away simply because I could not stand them anymore.  Yes, they are made a little better than store brand trainers.  But that is about the only redeeming quality.  From Pampers I expect so much more.  At least fit correctly.  My daughter is average weight and height and yet every day she wears them there is "plumber's crack." While on a playdate she spends time pulling it out of her bottom and adjusting it.  Yes, the sides of Pampers Easy Ups easily open to take them off, but what good does that do me if I have to undress her in a public bathroom after an accident.

Unfortunately, for the same price and in some cases less, I can find a better brand name trainer that allows me to change in case of accident, that doesn't need constant adjusting, that doesn't slide down, and that is more comfortable to wear and just as absorbant as Pampers Easy Ups.  These are a big disappointment.

For this frugal living mommy to put an opened package away for emergency and go buy another, should tell you something about how I feel about Pampers Easy Ups.

I always bought what I had coupons for and remember how easily the sides ripped on the Easy Ups. I'm glad that I don't have to worry about that anymore. Good review.
