Pampers Swaddlers —

My husband and I are new parents, and diaper changes were something that we wanted to be as pleasant and simple as possible. Our hospital used Huggies and gave us a free package; some friends gave us store brand diapers. We were impressed with neither. Between poor fits and leakage issues, we needed a suitable diaper.

Some of our best friends recommended Pampers Swaddlers, and we have not looked back since then. From birth (at 9.2 pounds and 21 inches,) our long, lean daughter has done very well in these. She is difficult to fit, because she is extremely long (26 inches now) with a very small waist. She needs a form-fitting diaper for her lean frame and gigantic bladder.

Pampers Swaddlers have left us with very few accidents. No one will ever convince me that any diaper can be entirely leak free--when a kid has just started solids and hasn't had a bowel movement for three days, there is going to be some leakage from the inevitable massive blowout. Nonetheless, Pampers Swadders have proven to be extremely absorbent during days and nights. They fit beautifully; I love that their waist elastic securely fits our daughter. They're not bulky; they fit gracefully under clothing and don't stick out everywhere. They are also widely available; we purchase ours at Sam's Club for about $40/case of 240. There is also an online rewards program in which you can accumulate points for Pampers purchases.

The only disadvantage of Pampers Swadders is that they are perfumed and smell like plastic. My daughter has not shown any sensitivity to them, but I personally find the smell unpleasant. It's not overwhelming, however, and their utility far outranks a smell to which I can grow accustomed. Overall, this is a superior diaper, especially for people who have small-framed babies.
