When I was pregnant with my first child I was so overwhelmed by all of the choices that were out there for everything including diapers. I wanted to make sure that I had given each brand a shot and purchased Pampers, Huggies, Luvs and a couple generic brands of diapers. I noticed right off the bat that the generic diapers were very rough. I ruled these out completely because I wasn't going to put my newborn in a diaper that might be uncomfortable (I certainly wouldn't want to be in it 24 hours a day!). I gave an equal shot to the Pampers, Huggies and Luvs. The Huggies and Luvs didn't seem to have as much elastic and didn't allow for the squirming that a typical baby does. They just looked very restrictive. My daughter was also born with what they called a "dimple" on her rear that made it very easy for her to have blow-outs in her diapers. I found that the swaddlers were the only diaper that I felt would reduce these blow-outs. They really kept all the contents inside and this made for a few more enjoyable naptimes and saved clothes! I also like the fact that Pampers has a points program. I can purchase any Pampers products, collect the points and redeem them for things like books and pictures. I gathered enough points the first year to pay for a photobook through Shutterfly. I used this book to recap her first year of life. Pampers is a good, reliable brand and I would feel confident recommending them and the swaddlers to any new parent.
