i learned after my first baby to not go cheap on diapers. we only use pampers for the first six months to one year. they are the only diapers that do not leak on my newborns, even with runny stools. they also keep them from breaking out (our family has sensitive skin) and getting frequent diaper rashes. i have four children now (ages eleven, three, two and ten weeks) and they all started out in pampers. i even suggest to other expectant mothers that they should at least start out in pampers. i had a pregnant lady stop me in bj's one time when i was pregnant with number four and ask what i recommended and why. so i gave her the break down and my experiences. she left that day with a box of swaddlers. i feel that the price is worth it because i spend less water and electricity washing clothes that the diapers have leaked on. also, less money is spent on diaper cream because the sensitive swaddlers do such a great job protecting their bottoms. also, i wouldn't call the strong smell a con (see below) i love the smell of a clean pamper!
