I joined the Pampers Gifts to Grow Program when it first started in 2005.  It was only supposed to run for a couple of years but due to popularity, it keeps getting extended and currently runs through March 1, 2010.

The Pampers Gifts to Grow Program is based on accumulating points for each package of Pampers purchased.  The jumbo size package of Pampers is worth three points and larger packages are worth more.  There is a code inside of each package of diapers, which is then manually entered online at the Pampers website.

It's easy to join the Pampers Gifts to Grow Program and once a member, you also have access to parenting information, free coupons, and other features of the website.  I don't know why anyone would NOT join this program, especially because the only cost involved is when the points are redeemed and you have to pay for shipping.  Otherwise, the items that you receive are FREE!

The rewards tend to change so sometimes there are great items to get and other times it's best to wait for something better to come along.  I believe that there were better items when the program first started, but that doesn't mean that there still aren't nice things to be obtained right now.  The minimum number of points currently needed to receive an item are 20 points for a Sesame Street book.  Although if you don't have that many points, for four points you can enter a contest for a chance to win a trip to SeaWorld.  The biggest item available, a $50 LEGO gift card requires 400 points.   Other items for redemption include several items from Shutterfly, various $10 gift cards, Pampers diapers, and a Leap Frog toy.

After saving up more than 200 points, I redeemed them last Christmas for a LEGO: Duplo Knights Castle for my son.  I had to pay $10 for shipping, which I thought was a bargain for such a great Christmas gift.  That castle now retails for $199 online!

Earlier this year, I redeemed 50 points to receive a Blockbuster Night Card, which included a free movie rental, two drinks, and popcorn.  Not too bad for FREE!

If you regularly purchase Pampers diapers, I highly recommend spending a few minutes to sign up for the Pampers Gifts to Grow Program.  You're already spending the money on diapers, so why not take advantage of getting something for FREE?  Even with the cost of shipping, you are almost always going to get a great deal.

In response to GigiandAdonai's comment from Dec 9, 2008 at 5:09PM:

I don't believe that points are available on Pampers baby wipes but that could have changed by now. I no longer buy baby wipes and only purchase the nighttime diapers now. It's been nice on the wallet. :)

I need to tell some of my friends about this program. I have several with babies and toddlers--lot of diapers, lots of points. Can you get points off other Pamper products like their baby wipes? ~Gigi
