I Bake Everything in my Square Baker

5

The Pampered Chef Square Baker is so convenient for baking any type of food. I bake chicken in this baker, as well as making different small casseroles. Although you cannot put this in the dishwasher, I still really like to use it because the food you bake in it cooks evenly. The square baker is stoneware, so you cannot wash it with soap. Rather you just scrape the food off with the vinyl scraper sold by Pampered Chef. You can rinse it with water, but they say you should not use soap because it can soak into the porous stoneware. Performance Everything bakes evenly when you make it within the square baker. Ease of Cleaning This is relatively easy to clean, but I don't like the fact that you cannot put it in the dishwasher. Sometimes it sits in my sink for awhile before I am able to wash it. Durability Since these are made of stone, you have to be careful to not drop anything on them. Design I like the design of this and the cranberry color on the outside of the pan.

Many Uses!

This baking dish is perfect for everything!  I have used it for brownies (which are cooked evenly ... no more crusty outside and gooey middle) as well as rottini bakes and roasting meats.  Easy clean up and keeps the food warm so seconds don't have to be heated up.  Great value and will be used again and again.

Square baker is another 'winner' from PC stoneware

I have always loved Pampered Chef's products, and started building my stoneware collection shortly after I was married. For some reason, I balked at purchasing this 9x9 square baker... I guess because of the price, but now that I have one, I think to myself: "Why did I put this off for so long?!" Though we are a family of 4, our boys are still young enough that cooking up a large 13x9 casserole of food sometimes results in too many leftovers. Cutting a recipe in half and using an 8x8 can sometimes result in overflow in the oven, so the 9x9 is the perfect size for when we need a smaller meal. Also, many recipes for cakes/bar cookies that I have used called for an 8x8 but after baking, the middle was still very undercooked; when I make those same recipes with the 9x9, they come out perfectly -- no more gooey middles and overbrowned tops! Just delicious baked goodies.

A very versatile bake ware item!

I purchased this stoneware baker from a Pampered Chef party about six years ago.  I got it because I wanted to help out my friend who was hosting the Pampered Chef party.  What I didn't know at the time was how much I would use this dish over the coming years!  At our house we use this stoneware baker for almost everything that can go in the oven.  Most often we use it for dishes like cavatelli or casseroles, but it also works equally well for brownies and other deserts.  On days that I am rushed for time in the evening, I will throw some chicken breasts in this baker in the morning for about thirty minutes on 350 degrees so that I have some chicken ready for that evening's meal.  It cooks very evenly and we never have a problem with the edges being cooked more than the food in the middle of the dish.  At the Pampered Chef party they said not to use soap on this baker so it achieves a good "patina".  I don't care for that idea and always was it with warm, soapy water.  It comes out clean and still is relatively non-stick when we cook.

Cooks great, but a little more effort to clean.

This item was one of my free gifts when I had a Pampered Chef party.  I thought, ok, I could use this for a lot of different things.  That has turned out to be true.  This is a great pan for cooking brownies, lasagna, casseroles, chicken dishes, and more.  The great thing about stoneware is that it cooks food so thoroughly but rarely burns it.  The stone heats up all around and cooks the food evenly.  Even after you take the food out of the oven, the stone is still hot and the food stays warm and even keeps cooking a little.  This particular pan is also nice because it's the cranberry color, which looks nice on display.  My only issue with stoneware is that it takes a little more effort to clean.  If you're cooking something that may stick to the pan, out with the plastic scraper and no soap.  You can soak it in some hot water to help, but you still have to handwash and scrape to get all of the stuck on food off.

Bakes Great

I love Pampered Chef!  I have lots of their products.  One of my most recent purchases was the square baker.  It is a stone ware piece.  I have baked several items in it.  I have baked brownies, chicken marinara and other odd and end foods.  What I love about the baker is you can use it for so many different things.  The brownies came out nice and moist and didn't stick to the stoneware at all!  It was practically clean without cleaning it!  The bad part about the cleaning tho, is that it is not dishwasher safe.  Also, when I cooked the chicken marinara it did stain the stoneware.  Now they say that the more you use it the more flavor you will have in your food.  This is because your stoneware keeps all the flavors of the food you cook in it.  Kinda like cast Iron.  The chicken did come out great not burnt, moist and again no sticking and no Pam!  I am a little disappointed in the staining aspect, little on the clean freak side! So no more tomatoes for the baker, but it is a great addition to my kitchen!

Indispensible Little Pan

I wasn't expecting much from the Pampered Chef Square Baker when I bought it. I was surprised. I have yet to bake a cake/brownie in it that has burned. Everything I cook in it always browns evenly, and it is very easy to clean. It was a bit pricey for me, but I have found that anything from Pampered Chef is well-worth the money.

I received this as a gift. I've been using it for years now and I still love it. Pampered chef is a great brand because of their great products. I love this dish for baking and cleaning is a cinch. I couldn't do without it now. This was a very practical and useable gift that I think would be great for men or women.
