Sharp, but not durable

4

These paring knives are very sharp, so they are very good for slicing soft fruits, such as peaches, nectarines, and mangoes. They are sharp enough to cut through the skin and flesh of the fruit instead of just crushing the fruit as a duller knife would do. Comfort The handle is a bit small, so it can be somewhat uncomfortable to hold, especially if cutting for an extended period of time. Performance They are great for soft foods, but they struggle with hard foods. Even when slicing carrots, the newly cut slices will often go flying, and the blade will begin to flex when putting force on it to get through the carrot. Durability The handle and blade of these knives feels rather weak. If trying to cut something that has much toughness to it, the blade will begin to flex and feels like it could break soon. On the plus side, the blade will stay sharp through a lot of usage (on softer fruits). Design If the blade would be thicker from top to bottom (as opposed to wider from side to side), it could still be sharp enough to cut well, but it also would be stronger and more stable when trying to cut thicker produce.

Versatile and sharp little knife!

5

This little knife is quite the workhorse! I have owned several of them over the years, and there are usually at least 3-4 sitting in my knife drawer at any given time. I use them on fruits, vegetables, meat...pretty much everything! The knife can be washed in the dishwasher and cleans up quite easily. The blade is deceptively sharp! I have cut myself a few times and am always surprised at how sharp this little knife stays over the years. This is a terrific stocking stuffer (i've given several as gifts, and the recipients are always pleased). The plastic handles have changed colors over the years (they seem to offer new colors each year), but the quality of the knife has not declined. In fact, I have a few extras that I've ordered that haven't even been used yet because my old ones are still going strong! Although these little knives might look like a good size for smaller hands, I would not recommend letting kids use these. They are much sharper than they appear! Durability These hold up really well over time!

This knife is super sharp, but cheap quality too.

I received a gift basket filled with an assortment of kitchen goodies in it and **Pampered Chef Quikut Paring Knife** was one of the items in my basket. This is the first Pampered Chef product I've ever used and it's just okay. Comfort The handle is very thin and narrow and made from a hard plastic. It's not necessarily uncomfortable to hold, but it isn't as great as the rubbery handle on my Farberware Paring Knife. Performance This knife is super sharp! It's even smaller than a traditional paring knife, so I mainly use it for removing strawberry tops or cutting Fig Newtons for my toddler, but it works really well. Durability One complaint I have is how flimsy the blade is. It will bend if you press too hard, so you have to be careful. It feels really cheap and like it won't last too long.

Surprisingly Nice For Small Jobs And Lower Price Point

5

With all of the equipment I have in our kitchen, you would think I should get tired of trying new things. That is not the case, however. My friend had gotten into selling Pampered Chef products and I ended up at a few parties. One of the low cost items that I ended up with was their white handled paring knife. It has a plastic handle and thin slicing blade. It is still going strong after a few years and plenty of use for small items. Comfort I find that the handle of this paring knife is a bit on the small side to hold comfortably. It is great for doing small quick jobs like paring an apple or peach, cutting small slices of softer things or carrots, or cutting a bruise off of fruit. For long term usage though, I am not a huge fan of this knife as the handle is hard for me to hold for long periods. Performance For quick small jobs like described above, I find that this knife is great. It is a good quick go-to knife for small jobs but not long cutting processes like needed for preserving season. Durability I have not had this knife break yet, and the blade is still sufficiently sharp enough to use even after a few years. The blade stays in the handle too. Design I wish the handle was a little larger and easier to hold, but that would probably make the price point higher. It is a nice lightweight knife to have handy for small jobs and the price is great- not overly high like so many of the Pampered Chef products.

Pampered Chef Paring Knife

I just love this knife! For the price (i think it is 1.25) you cannot go wrong with this little gem. I bought it about 5 years ago at a party my aunt was hosting. I thought yeah sure it is sharp now but it will dull quickly, after all it is really cheap. I wouldnt cut a roast with it - the blade is about 3 inches long. it is pretty thin too. If you have very arthritic hands, you may have a problem holding this knife since it is so small. I have used it to do quick peels of zucchini, potatoes, apples, etc... I have used it to cut small blocks of cheese. I have two small parrots and i use it to cut their dinner up. The blade does very good at helping me get those extra small slices. I have useed it at least twice a week for the past five years and the knife is still sharp and I dont see any dings in it. I have forgotten about it in the sink with very dirty dishes and no signs of rust. I kinda thought given how thin the blade is that it would either dull fast or rust. my Nana had a party two weeks ago and I ordered two more.

I have so many of the Pampered Chef Paring Knives!

Love, love, love my Pampered Chef Paring Knives! I am not a huge Pampered Chef fan just because I think it is a bit expensive for the average person, but they do have a lot of good products that I have tried over the years. One of them being the parking knife. It is such a small knife, but perfect for all kinds of jobs such as cutting a small apple, a hot dog for your kiddos, dinner for your toddler, and even peeling that apple! I seriously can't remember how, but somehow I was at a party or had a party and wound up with like six of these knives (I did not buy all of them). Maybe I won a game or something. I threw them in my kitchen drawer and kind of forgot about them, but then one day I came upon them and starting using them. I love them! They always stay sharp, unless some other knives, and like I said, you can use it for anything. It is always the first knife I grab unless I have something large to cut. I ended up giving my mom 2 of them and another friend of mine 2 to share the wealth!

Pampered Chef Paring Knife

I stand behind most every Pampered Chef product saying it is well worth the investment but after using the paring knife from PC and other much cheaper paring knifes I cannot say that I can tell a big difference between the two. I will say that Pampered Chef stands behind their products and this one in particular has a manufacter's guarantee. I have never had any problems with PC quality customer service. Here's a story to prove it: I received a Large Round Stone from Pampered Chef as a gift and when I opened the box I found it to have a broken handle. After contacting a local Pampered Chef consultant she quickly submitted my complaint and I received another Large Stone in the mail the following week at no charge with no questions asked. What great customer service. If you are looking for a little better quality knife or just wanting to add to your Pampered Chef product "collection" then this is the knife for you.

This Paring Knife is Awesome!

The pampered chef paring knife is a great tool in the kitchen. I have two of them one in white and one in a nice maroon. They also come in other fun colors depending on the season and what colors are in. I got both of these at a pampered chef party where my name was drawn and I got them for free so I really can't complain about cost at all. They last a long time and I have had both of mine for about 2 years now. I use them often, the blade looks kind of short, but it is sharp enough and works amazingly well. The plastic grip is very comfortable for my hands and I would say they are about average. The handle and the blade look sturdy and not like they will come apart unlike some knives with plastic handles. The pampered chef quarantee is always nice because if anything breaks or happens, they will give you another one for free. I always hand wash them which I do with all of my other good knives so I don't see this as being that annoying, but some people might.

Best little knife for you kitchen!

5

Pampered Chef products are often known for their somewhat high prices, but this little paring knife is a such a versatile little knife and it is sold at such a great, low price that it's affordable for just about anyone. I have had 2 of these paring knives for at least 10 years and they are just as sharp as the day that I purchased them. They are great for an assortment of kitchen tasks. They can very thinly slice and peel even the toughest fruits and veggies. It is also great for quickly chopping up fruit for my kids at lunch (i.e. an apple or pear into chunks). My children love to help me in the kitchen and this little knife allows them to even do some food preparation with me. It is a nice small size that fits well into their hands and because the blade is not long, I can let them do some chopping with it on a cutting board. They love being able to participate in cooking and being able to use a real knife boosts their confidence even more. Great knife!

The Pampered Chef Paring Knife is Simply Perfect

5

I LOVE these little paring knives. They are the only ones I use. They are perfect for all sorts of kitchen jobs. I use them mostly for vegetables, but they are so easy to handle and so sharp that I find myself reaching for them for all types of tasks. They are small and take up almost no space. I have had them for several years and they are still as sharp as the day I got them, without any additional sharpening from me. They are easy to clean, especially if you do so right after use. However, I would like if they were dishwasher safe. The only other thing that I don't like, but it isn't a huge deal, is that the blade sometimes feels a bit flimsy. However, that is to be expected with a small paring knife like this. I like the clean white handle, which is comfortable and easy to grip. Pampered Chef has great quality products, and these paring knives are no exception. You will find yourself using them constantly!
