Pampered Chef Kernel Cutter

4

I give Pampered Chef Kernel Cutter a score of 4. It is a little awkward to use to take corn off the cob. You almost have to stand up and use it to push down. It does take a little force to get the corn off the cob but once you get it started it works like a charm. This product is safe for older kids to use and is much safer than a knife. Performance This product does an excellent job at getting corn off the cob. I would much rather use this product to cut the corn off than a knife. Ease of Cleaning Pampered Chef Kernel Cutter is easy to clean and is dishwasher safe. Durability Pampered Chef products are built to last. We have had our kernel cutter for many years. Design To use the product you have to push down to remove the corn. They should have put the corn cutting part on the side so you just have to pull down. I have to stand up when removing the corn from the cob. Doesn't Stick The corn doesn't stick inside the cutter. It all comes off clean from the cob using this product.

When I saw the Pampered Chef Kernel Cutter I just had to buy it. My oldest daughter is a very picky eater. She loves corn, but won't eat it on the cob. Every summer when the corn in our garden was ready, I would have to use a knife and cut the corn off of the cob in order for her to eat it. This was a very messy and unpleasant endeavor. And I have never been the best at using a knife like that. Now with this tool I can remove the corn from the cob quickly and almost effortlessly for her. It has saved me so much time and frustration. You just take it and push it down the side of the corn on the corn and almost all of the kernels come right off. You can flip it around and scrape with the other side to remove any stubborn kernels that are still attached to the cob. This tool is very inexpensive and it fits comfortably in my hand. it is also very easy to clean. I am very thankful that I found this because it has made my life so much easier!

I take utmost care when it comes to the quality of knives or cutters and purchase a quality brand always. Pampered is known to be a good brand whether it is their bowls or other products and so I purchased this cutter from the dealer. It took me about a week to learn how it works and after that, I got a hold of it and used to regularly. It is very easy to use and you do not need to put a lot of pressure while using this cutter and it easily cuts the corn. The cutting job takes seconds to get completed and so I prefer using this cutter than using knives which make it more difficult to cut corn. The price of this cutter is very reasonable and I own two cutters which I use regularly. The product is sharp and while washing it and cleaning it, you need to take utmost care. It was once kept on the kitchen platform and one of my friend's daughter touched it and she immediately got cut with its sharp edges. It should be kept away from children.

Cuts the Kernels Not The Fingers!

Every August it is corn picking time here. There always are stands that sells corn on the cob, the local grocery stores or the Farmers Markets. Getting the corn has always been the easy part, but taking it off the cob was another story. I found this handy tool from Pampered Chef which has been a big help. This is a Kernel Cutter and it does exactly that. It has a wide handle which is easy to hold. After your corn has been shucked and cooked and cooled a bit, you can take this cutter and go down one side on it. The kernels will come off for the most part, then if you turn it over the plastic piece will finish removing any loose pieces. I recommend this as a nice way to get that corn off the cob. Before using this, I use a husking brush which removes most of the husk so you are not getting that with the corn kernels.

When I had a Pampered Chef party recently, it was corn season. What better time to show off this product? We had a dish that called for fresh corn, a tasty fresh salsa, so we cut it right off the cob instead of going with frozen. This handy tool zips rip through a cob of corn in no time. One side does a great job of getting right to the bottom of the kernel, while the other cleans out all the milk. I was lucky enough to get this from my consultant as a gift. One of my guests stopped by a few days later and surprised me with some of her blackberries (Yum!)  and mentioned she'd ordered the tool and was hoping to use it to put up some corn that couldn't wait. Because I had it, and the order wouldn't be in before she needed it, we switched. She was thrilled! She said she put up her corn in about half the time it usually took her. This tool is small enough to store easily, or even keep at the table for those who don't like to/can't eat the corn off the cob.

Cuts kernels cleanly off the cob but leaves fingers intact

I admit that it can be a little difficult to get excited over something as simple as a kernel cutter... but as far as such utilitarian gadgets go, this one can be pretty handy. We love fresh corn at our house, but the guys aren't too fond of gnawing it off the cob.  They complain that it gets stuck in their teeth, so they would rather cut it off the cob and eat the loose kernels.  The problem with that is that it's fairly dangerous - a knife slips easily on a cob and somebody invariably ends up needing stitches. That's where the Pampered Chef Kernel Cutter comes in - this cool little tool is curved and shaped just right to fit a rounded cob.  You push it down over the cob and it basically shaves off all the juicy kernels quickly, easily, and safely.  The handle is comfortable to hold, and it comes with a protective storage cover.  It's also dishwasher-safe and doesn't take up much storage space in the kitchen-gadgets drawer.
