This egg slicer is great for slicing and dicing eggs, whether for egg salad, green salad, or macaroni salad. We use it regularly, and it is far easier than slicing with a knife. Ease of Cleaning One of the major drawbacks of this egg slicer is the difficulty of cleaning it. The metal piece with the slicing wires can be removed from the plastic, which makes the metal easier to clean. But the plastic has many small slots and corners that egg can get wedged into, and it is extremely difficult to remove. Design The design of the plastic part is what makes cleaning so difficult. The other complaint I have is that the hollowed part in the plastic rest is designed to turn an egg in one direction for slicing. This works great if you want round slices for a green salad. But if you want diced egg for egg salad or pasta salad, you need to be able to turn it two directions. This could be improved by making a hollowed area for the egg in two directions.

This is a such a cool product, as are many of the products put out by Pampered Chef. What can one really say about an egg slicer? Lots of good things. It is a simple device, but should be treated with respect, since it could easily cut a finger, or two. It is intended for slicing eggs and it does a great job for this, but it can slice other foods too. Anything as soft as a hard boiled egg could be used in this, examples might be, bananas, very soft tomatoes might work, peaches, etc. the only issues I have is the cleaning factor. It does have quite a few metal slicers, and food tends to collect in between them. It is dishwasher safe so this may be the best way to clean this device, just be sure it is always dry to avoid rusting over time. It is very durable and I have had mine for years. You will want to be sure when you clean it to use a sanitizer type detergent to avoid any smells, since soft foods may leave residue. Definitely recommend this one.

I eat salads a lot, and I am always struggling to cut up eggs to put on top of the salad. They always seemed to fall apart until I started using the Pampered Chef Egg Slicer Plus. This is really convenient for slicing eggs to put on a salad. They are cut a little too big to make an egg salad sandwich out of, but you can always put them thru the slicer again. I typically use this for eggs, but I did use it for bananas on a few occasions, and it cut right thru the banana. I think harder frut or veggies wouldn't cut that well, but for softer items it works great. The only draw back is that sometimes the food seems to get stuck between the blades when I'm trying to wash the slicer. I don't put it in the dishwasher, and I always wash it by hand. This is a little annoying for me since I typically put everything in the dishwasher, but the one time I tried that the food did not get cleaned off of the slicer. Ease of Cleaning I have to wash this by hand, and it's hard to get the food from between the blades.

I ordered my egg slicer at a Pampered Chef party years ago. It was one of those purchases that you get because it sounds fun, the sales lady makes it look cool, but you don't really need it. 10 years later and this is a product I will always have in my kitchen. I use this to slice eggs, mushrooms, strawberries and more. It is very versatile and makes quick work of slicing up little veggies and fruits. Ease of Cleaning This is fairly easy to clean because you can just pop it in to the dishwasher. However, certain foods have a tendency to stick to the slicer (mushrooms always do). If I don't soak this in my dishwasher and wipe off the food particles, there will sometimes be food left on it, even after a run through the dishwasher. This is not a big deal and it only takes an extra 5 seconds to do it. Durability I have had mine for a little over 10 years and it still works great! It has never broken or gotten dull. I would say this is a very durable product.

I LOVE the Pampered Chef Egg Slicer Plus. It has tight wires that slice right though eggs, strawberries, mushrooms, olives, bananas, etc. Anything soft this product will slice up for you. I love the well that is in it that is perfectly shaped for an egg. Keeps whatever you're slicing from rolling away! It is not like other products that become warped with every use. The wires stay just as new. The part that the wires are attached to can even be removed for easy cleaning. Just in case those slicing wires ever break, you can easily get them replaced. Just contact your Pampered Chef consultant and they will place a replacement part order for you. Ease of Cleaning Top rack of your dishwasher away from any heating elements! Durability It would take A LOT of force to break the slicing wires. But for your soft foods, it will work wonders :) Design It is small and compact enough to fit in any drawer. No tricks to get it to work. Easy for your kids to help you cut up foods for snack time!

This egg slicer does a great job for an even egg slice. I ended up using it for a few other uses, also. Once when I made pizza, I used it to slice whole olives. I also used it to quickly "slice" strawberries for a strawberry dessert I had. Although it functioned well, I ended up deciding that it took up too much space in my drawer since I only used it a few times a year. Ease of Cleaning It is a little difficult to clean because where the slicing "strings" are, there can be residue that builds up between and around those strings. Also, there are several little crevices by the egg holder that can get "clogged". I ended up deciding that it was a lot of work for the little amount of time that I used it. If you have a recipe that calls for a ton of sliced eggs OR if you slice eggs a lot of the time, it would be worth your while. I did not. Design I like how the "egg holder" is wide and can hold more than just an egg. I have used it to slice olives, strawberries, and buffalo mozzarella cheese balls. It is nice to have a kitchen appliance that can have multiple uses.

Pampered Chef Egg Slicer Plus gets a score of 5. Pampered Chef makes excellent kitchen gadgets and this one is cool. I love having hard boiled egg in salad and this gadget helps you get perfectly sliced eggs each time. Plus if they are hot, you don't have to worry about cutting your hands. This product is perfectly safe to even let a child help you. The strings in the cutter are not sharp because they don't have to be to slice through a hard boiled egg. It is a great gadget and extremely convenient if you like to have eggs on your salad or a sandwich. When you are done with it, just throw it in the dishwasher to be cleaned and your good to go. Ease of Cleaning We wash ours in the dishwasher. Durability We have had ours for several years and it still works great! Design Simply open the handle on the egg slicer, put the de-shelled hard boiled egg in, and push down and you've got one evenly sliced egg ready for consumption.

I have had my Pampered Chef Egg Slicer Plus for who knows how long and I love it. I say that it is very convenient but not required because you don't need an egg slicer in your life, but you will probably want one. It slices through eggs like a dream. When using the Egg Slicer Plus, you will find that all the slices are uniform, making it great as a salad topper. The egg does not fall apart; in fact, you can pick up the whole sliced egg. Sure, you can rough chop eggs too to put on a salad, but if you use this, it will save you time and you will look extra fancy. I would recommend that after you use the Pampered Chef Egg Slicer Plus, that you wash it immediately. If you let the egg yolk crust over the metal wires, they will be difficult to wash. The white on the Egg Slicer Plus does yellow over time, but that does not affect its performance and it doesn't give off any weird smells. If you are a salad lover who loves to top it with eggs, I would recommend the Egg Slicer Plus!

we have the pampered chef egg slicer plus, and we find it very useful for a variety of purposes. first, we use it to chop hard boiled eggs for salads or just eating. second, we use it to slice tomatoes, which is especially nice to have for salads or bls. Last, we use it to slice avocados. I am not sure that it is meant for the tomatoes or avocados, but we have had no issues with using it for these purposes. Ease of Cleaning The slicer is easy to clean. to do so, simply use dishsoap and water and run the egg slicer under water. It typically takes a minute or two to clean; there are not a lot of extra remnants stuck to the wires. Design The egg slicer plus is composed of several wires that cut evenly and consistently across the object. it is very lightweight and small making it easy to store. it can also be easily packed in a lunch bag if you desire to take it to work to slice a hardboiled egg at work versus ahead of time.

This egg slicer is really good for slicing boiled eggs, olives, and mushrooms. You can also slice strawberries with it but I find that the seeds tend to get kind of wrapped around the wires and are hard to get off when you clean it. This is one of those items that I own but rarely use. When you figure in the time to get the seeds off, it is easier to cut strawberries with a knife. I don't seem to need to slice eggs, olives, and mushrooms very often, so it doesn't get used that much in my kitchen. Ease of Cleaning It isn't bad, for the kind of product that it is. The wire frame comes out for cleaning. Food does tend to get trapped at the points where the wires are connected to the frame, which requires a little extra effort...and then there are those pesky strawberry seeds. Durability If you use it for its intended purpose, it will do fine. If you try to slice something more tough, those little wires are going to bend and break. Design I appreciate the fact that the wire frame detaches for cleaning.
