I got tired of getting what I paid for when I paid only a dollar or two for an egg slicer. When my daughter held a Pampered Chef party I jumped at the chance to pay more with the hope that I would have a higher-quality product. I am not disappointed. Unlike less expensive brands this egg slicer is big enough to use on extra-large eggs and the heavy-gauge wires are mounted in a molding that goes into the slots so I don't need to maneuver them to hit the slots.
